Embracing Change and Redefining FOMO For those who know me, it might come as a surprise that I haven't been as present at industry conferences and networking events this year. I used to feel a compelling need to attend every single event, driven by a fear of missing out (FOMO) and a desire to be surrounded by fellow enthusiasts in the meetings and events industry. But this year, something changed within me. Yes, I still get excited when a registration hits my inbox, and yes, I do want to figure out how to attend. But what happens next has surprised even me. I started asking myself questions that took the anxious feeling out of the equation. If you haven't noticed, I've been focusing on my company's growth and participating in other meaningful programs. Here’s a glimpse of what I’ve been up to: - Organizing my business at the Nashville Entrepreneur Center - Engaging with the tech community at Greater Nashville Technology Council - Aligning my emotions and vision with Inner Matrix Systems - Finding accountability and support in a new tribe of female entrepreneurs Most importantly, I’ve been focusing on my family. My kids need me. With new clients and increased on-site management this year, I've had to carefully consider my travel for work. Being present for my daughter’s dance classes, my son’s soccer games, her recital, and his 5th-grade graduation has become a priority. These moments are irreplaceable and they’re the reason I do what I do. As summer approaches, my schedule will change once again. virsitour is wrapping up our new website build, my kids are on summer break, and I’ll be starting my MBA journey in August. Yes, I missed IMEX in Frankfurt, Meeting Professionals International WEC in Louisville, and Smart Meetings in New Orleans this year. I also missed some MPI Tennessee Chapter events, Heels & Handshakes , and several tech and founders events. But that’s okay. My vision is freedom, and these decisions align with that vision. More opportunities will come, and more decisions will need to be made. But I feel great about what I’ve accomplished so far this year, with much more to come. It opens doors for growth, success, and personal development. When people seize opportunities, they can overcome challenges, break through barriers, and achieve their aspirations. As a founder I normally not sharing personal thoughs on socials but I think this might help other founders as well. Back in 2009 my first start up Khitandigital.nl did Ok and I was quite renowned for my hyperrealistic portraits. After that I worked in bigger corporate studio and exchange money for stability in my life for my first born child. After founding Reblika I found many struggles to survive partially due to the pandemic but mostly due to my inexperience as an entrepreneur. Although from the outside we seem to look successful or create the image of an innovative company. But inside the journey is very painful. Just like Jensen Huang mentioned if I knew what I know today I would never start a company. This is the first post of a series of thoughts about founding my current two companies REBLIKA - The Character Company & Reblium Navigating my way to find the right balance after hearing so many voices. The lesson I learned in this last 5 years is not to forget your inner voice. Stay truthful to your idea and vision and don’t let anything stop you from executing your dream.
