The BIS ISI (Bureau of Indian Standards - Indian Standards Institute) Government Registration Mark on tires signifies that the tire complies with the standards set by the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS). This mark is a certification indicating that the tire has undergone testing and meets the required quality and safety standards as specified by the BIS. The BIS ISI mark assures consumers that the tire has been manufactured according to the regulations laid down by the Indian government to ensure quality, safety, and performance. It serves as an indicator of reliability and adherence to established standards, giving consumers confidence in the product they are purchasing. Tires bearing the BIS ISI mark undergo rigorous testing for various parameters such as durability, traction, load-bearing capacity, and resistance to wear and tear. Compliance with these standards helps in ensuring the safety of vehicles and passengers on Indian roads. In essence, the BIS ISI mark on tires acts as a seal of approval from the government, providing assurance to consumers about the quality and reliability of the product they are purchasing. #RollWithQuality #TireTechTrend #RubberRoadWarriors #GripGameStrong #TractionTrendsetters #DriveSafeDriveSmart #TireTalkTuesday #TrendyTreadz #RoadReadyRevolution #QualityRubberRevival

An interesting topic came up on TT.. Tire weight ratings. It seems many drivers don't know of or weren't educated on what to look for. https://lnkd.in/gn7cwWwV I'm curious, how many know how to identify a tire's weight rating? When a carrier has a blow out does the shop or driver check to insure the tire has a sufficient rating capacity to carry the weight of the load? https://lnkd.in/eSateAGQ New Mexico allows 600 pounds per inch of width, i.e. 10" wide tire can have 6,000 pounds. Two steer tires 10" wide = 12,000 pounds. The tire below has a Load Index of 4,938 pounds per tire, so it can't be used as a steer tire. But could be suitable for a set of duals in a tandem axle truck carrying 34,000 pounds on the eight tires, i.e. 4,398 X 4 = 17,592 or 4,398 X 8 = 35,184. I wouldn't want a tire with a lesser Load Index.. FYI, if a vehicle is empty and the tire is flat? The tire can be removed to avoid an OOS during a roadside inspection. 😉 FYI! Happy Thursday!

Senior Manager Sales & Business Development (Domestic & International) at PCL - SUMO Air Technology Pvt Ltd
#Over_inflation_of_Tyres Excessive air pressure can distort the shape of the tire, leading to decreased traction and increased wear and tear down the center of the tire. If your car tyre is over inflated with too much air, then this can actually cause the tyre to become deformed. Potential issues with over inflated tyres include: – the tyres could become distorted – the tyres can lose traction – the tyres could have un-even tread wear It’s best to check your tyre pressure at a petrol station / tyre shop / workshop. PCL pressure gauges are fast and reliable & accurate readings. #ATMA_India

How many km do tyres last? While it varies, you should have your tyres checked by a mechanic every 10,000km, or every 12 months. Consider changing your tyres every 30,000 – 40,000km, or every 5-10 years. Advice on how long tyres last ranges from 10,000 to 50,000km, but the NRMA recommends changing them around every 40,000km.
