The Supreme Court’s ruling reaffirmed the CBI's authority to investigate Central Government employees without requiring fresh state consent under the DSPE Act. By clarifying that general consent granted by the undivided state of Andhra Pradesh extends to its successor states, the Court emphasized the agency's role in ensuring uniform application of central legislation. This decision strengthens the fight against corruption by preventing procedural roadblocks and maintaining the independence of central investigative agencies. #supremecourt #cbi #justiceprevails #antigraftlaws #lawandjustice #legalupdates #courtrulings #corruptionfreeindia #lawyerlife #constitution

The Pervasive Problem of Corruption in Subordinate Courts The image highlights a critical issue plaguing the Indian judiciary: the increasing corruption in subordinate courts. While the Supreme Court's concern over the misuse of Section 498A is valid, it is equally important to address the "pay and get" culture prevalent at lower levels. Clerks and other court staff frequently demand bribes for basic services, such as obtaining documents or securing favorable hearing dates. This practice not only hinders the efficiency of the judicial system but also undermines public trust in the legal process. The Supreme Court must take a strong stance against these malpractices and advocate for strict action to curb corruption in subordinate courts. The law should be applied impartially and transparently, ensuring that justice is not compromised. Only then can we uphold the integrity of the legal system and protect the rights of all citizens. #JudicialReform #CorruptionInCourts #LegalSystem #Integrity #Justice #SupremeCourt #IndianJudiciary #AccessToJustice

The Delhi High Court has ruled that withholding bail, where a court deems it appropriate to release an accused on merits, amounts to punishment. The bench made this observation while granting bail to Yudhveer Singh Yadav, a public servant accused of bribery under the Prevention of Corruption Act. The court emphasized that while bribery allegations undermine public trust, bail should not be denied as punishment. Citing the principle "bail is a rule, jail is an exception," the court noted that Yadav's case involved offences with a maximum sentence of seven years, and the investigation was complete. The title of the case is Yudhveer Singh Yadav v. Central Bureau of Investigation Through Secretary Government of India. #bribe #corruption #bail #jurisprudence #delhi #highcourt
