Why isn’t Live dying as people predicted? For years people have expected ‘on demand’ to totally kill off live. The flexibility of consumption offering too much of a pull for audiences who live in a ‘now’ culture. But it just doesn’t seem to be happening. - The Traitors averaged 5.4 million live viewers each week - Super Bowl LVIII was the most watched live event in US TV history And we even see this translate on an everyday level, where Dizplai partner The United Stand go live to tens of thousands daily on a set schedule in the morning, afternoon and evening. I think the essence of live still taps into some inbuilt human traits. 👉 One part structure and habit 👉 One part shared experience 👉 One part audience engagement If you can consider the role human psychology makes in your live content, you’re on the road to success. #broadcast #sportsbiz #ott

RATINGS: VANCE/HANNITY INTERVIEW ON FOX NEWS EASILY BEATS PRESIDENT BIDEN/LESTER HOLT INTERVIEW ON NBC Do you even need to ask who led Night 1 ratings of the Republican National Convention? Fox News DOMINATED with more than 6.1 million viewers from 8-11pm, according to Nielsen data. By comparison, CNN averaged just over 1 million viewers and MSNBC had 1.4 million. Fox News’ audience swelled to 6.9 million for the 10pm hour, well ahead of runners up ABC (2.28 million) and NBC (2.24 million). At 9 PM, Sean Hannity’s exclusive interview with Republican VP candidate JD Vance delivered 6.1 million viewers and 1 million in the 25-54 demo, outpacing Lester Holt’s NBC sit down with President Biden by more than 100% with viewers and 58% with the 25-54 demo. Early Nielsen numbers show Fox News again in the lead for Night 2 delivering 5.2 million in primetime making Fox News #1 AGAIN for the night amongst all competition in broadcast OR cable. Presidential debate with more than 51 million viewers The Thursday night debate between President Joe Biden and former President Donald Trump on CNN attracted an impressive 51.27 million viewers on television, as reported by Nielsen data. The 90-minute debate, which made waves in the political realm, was simultaneously shown on 22 networks. CNN, hosting the event from its Atlanta studios, provided a live feed to other networks at no cost but with strict guidelines on presentation and branding. CNN boasted the highest viewership with 9.53 million viewers on its main channel, including 3.379 million in the 25-54 demographic. Other networks such as Fox News, ABC News, and MSNBC also garnered significant viewership. CNN hailed the debate as the most-watched program in its history, and the most popular non-sports program on television so far this year. What makes this debate so important to viewers?
