Growing Together at Aldridge Education’s Post

How do we get 6,500 new teachers into the profession? It was a privilege for the team to feed into Jane Fletcher's thinking on this. At Aldridge Education, we are passionate about growing new teachers and allowing them to thrive in the profession for the long term. Throughout our SCITT recruitment, we have been exposed to many barriers candidates face even getting their foot in the door. We have some ideas - they are not rocket science. Sometimes the simple tweaks can make all the difference. Read the new blog linked below - do you agree? What more can we be doing? #education #6500newteachers #SCITT #GrowingTogether

Teacher recruitment is an issue we feel really passionately about; and while we support the new Government's plan to recruit 6,500 new teachers, there's no doubt that we need to make some practical changes to the system to support that ambition. We've identified two key issues: firstly, it's not the case that people don't want to train to teach - it's that they can't afford to. And secondly, we need teacher training to be seen as a prestigious route and to gain greater exposure nationally. For some of our suggestions on to tackle these issues, you can read more on the blog from our CEO, Jane Fletcher. It's nothing seismic or dramatic - just some straightforward, common sense, applied intentionally to streamline processes, unpick some confusing policies, and genuinely demonstrate to our future and current teachers that we value the development of a great workforce. #teacherrecruitment #uncommoncommonsense #everylessonshapesalife
