💡 Attention Alberta Building Owners and Managers: The Government of Canada is investing $200 million in the Deep Retrofit Accelerator Initiative (DRAI) to help cover planning fees and other prep work for deep retrofits. Several organizations, including Alberta EcoTrust and BOMA Canada, have received funding to assist building owners in navigating these opportunities. BOMA Edmonton and BOMA Calgary are actively working to learn more to help answer any questions. 🗓 Info session alert: Join Alberta EcoTrust for a hybrid session in Edmonton on October 16. They’ve secured $14 million to provide coaching and consulting services for building owners. Interested in BOMA Canada’s Enspire initiative? Building projects and redevelopment can be costly, which is why the Municipality of Chatham-Kent is here to help. The Chatham-Kent Building & Planning Fee Rebate Program can provide assistance for the development, redevelopment, adaptive reuse or rehabilitation of properties via a reduction in applicable planning and building permit fees. Reduced planning and building permit fees may, in concert with other program support, help encourage development efforts by reducing initial regulatory costs.
