Aegis Energy’s Post

Two topics we care about: advancing safer truck parking and improving driver facilities. Last week, the ScanSpot team carried out field work in Alfeld, Germany, near Nuremberg, on the Bosch Secure Truck Parking site. Led by George L. of Aegis Energy and supported by the University of Oxford and Freightsafe Limited, this five-day initiative focussed on collecting diverse datasets using advanced sensing technologies to tackle critical challenges in logistics and driver safety. At the heart of the project was a developmental machine nicknamed "Frankenstein," equipped with LiDAR, thermal imaging, and low light capabilities. This setup enabled the project to collect data that could help improve truck parking facilities, making them safer and more efficient for drivers, while also aiming to reduce operational costs across the industry. With the backing of Innovate UK the project reflects the growing need for innovative solutions to enhance driver facilities and support the logistics industry in addressing key pain points. A big thank you to all collaborators for their work in laying the groundwork for safer and more cost-effective solutions in freight logistics. #DriverWelfare #SaferTruckStops #Innovation #DataCollection #Logistics #IndustrySolutions #UniversityofOxford #AegisEnergy #InnovateUK Bosch Secure Truck Parking / Bosch / Aegis Energy
