8 Declared Food Allergens in India. What is Allergen? An allergen is a substance that can trigger an allergic reaction in a person's body. Allergens are substances that can provoke an abnormal immune response, causing allergic reactions in susceptible individuals. These substances can be found in a variety of everyday sources such as certain foods, pollen, pet dander, insect stings, dust mites, and certain medications. When an individual with a sensitivity encounters an allergen, their immune system reacts as though the substance is harmful, leading to symptoms such as sneezing, itching, swelling, hives, or, in severe cases, anaphylaxis. Allergies are a common health concern that can impact quality of life, and identifying and avoiding allergens is key to managing symptoms.

Cats and dogs are prone to allergies development for many reasons, and one of these factors is consuming protein coming from environments with elevated levels of pollutants. As protein plays a vital role in pet's nutrition and contributes to a healthy growth journey, fur parents can reduce the risks of allergies development by selecting high-quality ingredients for feeding.
