Advising health care organizations dedicated to better outcomes and more affordable, equitable systems for financing and providing care
Enforcement of price #transparency regulations remains weak for both the hospital transparency and transparency-in-coverage regs. This is a terrific explainer from Carol Skenes of Turquoise Health. Love the Leslie Knopes reference. I did not realize the big role for states in enforcing the TIC regs. The feds can do much more to get better, more standardized machine readable files into the public domain and make them easier to find and use. Under the Washington My Health My Data Act, non-prescription data will only be in scope (i.e. be considered consumer health data) "if the regulated entity draws an inference about a consumer's health status from its purchase of non-prescription medication." So says the Washington State Office of the Attorney General in this week's update to its WaMHMD FAQ page (at new no. 8). https://lnkd.in/eNiYX7kG Now that we're a full month+ post-enforcement, regular and thoughtful updating to its running FAQs would be great to see. #consumerhealthdata #MHMD
