Association for Supply Chain Management (ASCM) F1 simulator was an amazing experience ♥️ Navigating the Fast Lane: How Formula 1 Mirrors Supply Chain Complexity As an avid fan of Formula 1, I've always marveled at the precision, strategy, and adaptability required to succeed in such a high-octane sport. Recently, I began to see striking parallels between the intricacies of F1 racing and the complexities inherent in today's supply chain management. The Race Track of Supply Chains Just as a Formula 1 driver navigates a demanding race track, supply chain managers must steer through a series of challenges and variables. Both environments require real-time decision-making, adaptability, and unwavering focus. Visibility: The Pit Crew Advantage In F1, every second counts. Pit crews must have full visibility into the car’s performance, track conditions, and competitor strategies to make split-second decisions. Similarly, in supply chain management, real-time visibility into every facet of the operation—from inventory levels to transportation routes—is essential. This enables proactive adjustments, minimizing disruptions and ensuring smooth operations. Flexibility: Adapting to the Unknown Races are won not just by pure speed but by the ability to adapt to unforeseen circumstances—weather changes, mechanical failures, or strategic maneuvers by competitors. This same flexibility is crucial in supply chain management. Market conditions can shift rapidly, and customer demands can change in an instant. Companies that can pivot quickly, adjusting their supply chain using Demand Driven Institute DDMRP buffers to protect the supply chain against variability of demand and supply Achieving Our Goals: Precision and Strategy Ultimately, both Formula 1 racing and supply chain management are about achieving goals through a blend of precision and strategy. Success in both arenas demands meticulous planning, constant monitoring, and the agility to adjust course when necessary. By embedding these principles into our supply chain strategies, we can navigate complexities, mitigate risks, and drive towards our goals with the same determination and finesse as a Formula 1 champion. My Conclusion: Just as a Formula 1 team leverages technology, teamwork, and strategy to triumph on the race track, so too must we embrace these elements to master the complexities of the supply chain. Visibility and flexibility are the keys to our success, we need a methodology as DDMRP that helps enabling us to navigate uncertainties and accelerate towards our objectives. #SupplyChain #Formula1 #Visibility #Flexibility #Strategy #Success #ddmrp #ascm #cpim #wasolutions #avci

From a national inventory perspective, three Crosstrek trim levels are up +10% or more this week. So, I plotted Crosstrek national inventory levels since July 2024 and noticed a couple things while I was putting it together. - There is NOT a strong correlation between the best priced unit and national inventory levels at any trim level over this period. - Subaru dealers in the Boston, MA and Hartford, CT markets had the best priced Crosstrek in the country 49% of the time over this period. I think that second point is interesting, and track the best priced new Subaru across trim levels here, so you don't have to: https://lnkd.in/g5ekg8Tn

In today’s consolidating equipment dealership landscape, creating a unified cultural framework is essential. Diverse practices and philosophies can challenge cohesion, so it’s vital to root values and beliefs in the dealership’s mission and vision. Sadly, many dealerships treat these statements as mere words instead of the guiding principles they should be.
