The recorded proceedings of the panel Games and Foresight: Unlocking Strategic Insight Through Play during the World Futures Studies Federation 50th Anniversary Conference are out! We shared and unpacked several foresight games from Paris, including Dreams and Disruptions. Games can serve as a powerful and playful tool to generate heterogeneous, plural, and, yes, stress-tested visions of the future. Decisions and choices can be simulated and teaming enhanced within the game context. As a learning tool, foresight games enable learners to learn complex ideas like randomness, bias, systems, and chaos. A significant insight I think from embedding games into foresight is the sense of agency it instills in players.
