🚗 TLC DRIVER TIP: BEING NICE GETS YOU FURTHER THAN YOU THINK! 🚗 As NYC Uber and Lyft drivers, we know the headache of dealing with TLC appointments and paperwork. But here’s a pro tip: Be nice. Seriously, it works! Instead of losing your cool when they say, "Come back tomorrow," try being respectful and polite. In my experience, I’ve seen kindness save me from a second trip, while others who yelled were turned away. TLC reps are human too, and a little empathy can go a long way in getting things done faster. Stay calm, stay driving, and save yourself the hassle! 🚗💨 #TLCDrivers #UberDriversNYC #LyftDriversNYC #TLCAppointments #BeNice #TLCDriverLife #TLCProcess #DriverPatience #RideshareTips #UberLyftNYC #StayCalmStayDriving #KeepDrivingNYC #TLCOfficeTips #RideshareSuccess #NYCDrivers #StayOnTheRoad

Looks bad. Looks really bad. #Incompetence or typical #digitalplatform #malevolence? Quote: [I took an @Uber today and for the first time was offered a NYC yellow cab. I thought good for Uber supporting the cabbies. I asked the driver about his experience with Uber and he surprised me by saying it was bad. He explained that even when the passenger agreed to pay a tip to the driver on the Uber app, the driver did not receive a tip and Uber kept the tip for itself. I said that this could not be true so he asked me to test it. When the ride finished I added a $5.00 tip. His screen showed that I paid no tip. The driver was right. In short, Uber is massively increasing its margins and profits in NYC by ripping off NYC cab drivers. I texted @dkhos Dara from Uber midday today and sent this photo of the driver’s screen. He did not respond. I like Dara, but this is really bad. I can only assume that Dara is unaware of this. Uber needs to immediately return the stolen funds with interest to the NYC taxi drivers and to other drivers in any other markets where they are doing the same and they should deeply apologize. And Uber should restate its earnings to reflect this overstatement of margins and profits. This needs to happen now. @ericadamsfornyc Mayor Adams, I am sure agrees.] https://lnkd.in/gJTukwci

SERIOUSLY………… Lately, I’ve noticed a pattern during my regular auto rides that has made me think. Often, auto drivers ask me for extra money before starting the ride or become less cooperative when I request a drop-off location that's a bit further than my usual stop ( just two blocks away from the location) However, when my dad or uncle interacts with the auto drivers, they don’t face these issues. The drivers don’t ask for extra money and are more accommodating with their drop-off points. This isn’t just my experience; my sister and female friends have mentioned similar encounters. It’s interesting to see how the treatment varies based on who is making the request. These observations have made me reflect on the underlying reasons for this difference in treatment. While there could be various factors at play, it’s essential to acknowledge and address such experiences to ensure fair and respectful interactions for everyone. Have you faced similar situations? How do you handle them? Let’s share our experiences and thoughts on how to navigate and possibly improve these everyday interactions. #PersonalExperience #FairTreatment #EverydayInteractions #CommunityInsight

Uber has 142 million MAPCs (they change the acronym every few Q) as of the last quarter. As a veteran driver of 8 years on both platforms, I've seen the good the bad and the ugly as far as my Rideshare earnings are concerned. I'm also a frequent Rider/Consumer on many platforms. Subsidized fantasy land is over for passengers as well as drivers since Uber’s focus shifted feom growth at all cost to profitability. Passagenger Fares have gone up to the tune of 50%+ since 2019. As a Rider, I'm definitely noticing lower car quality, lower driver quality as well as service, is that what you're experiencing? The churn and burn strategy by TNCs when it comes to driver acquisition may backfire. After reading the room, I always try strike a conversation with the Rider in order to educate them as well as listen to their concerns. Here's an example of that during a trip over the weekend as part of Sergio's Driving Diaries on the The Rideshare Guy YouTube channel. #gigeconomy #rideshare

Dear Uber / Ola / Rapido 🚕 🚨 Yesterday, I came across a heartbreaking video: a cab driver, distracted on his phone, overran a 6-7 year-old child playing outside his home in a residential area. The tragedy was even worse because the driver didn’t even realize he’d hit someone and only stopped 100 meters later to pick up another passenger. The child lost his life on the spot. Watching that was gut-wrenching—I can’t begin to imagine the pain his family must be feeling. Too often, we see cab drivers on constant calls, sometimes with headphones, while navigating through dense traffic and residential zones. Companies like you invest billions, hire top talent, and leverage advanced technology—yet road safety remains a glaring issue. Here are a few suggestions to consider: - When the cab is in motion, incoming calls should be automatically disconnected/not allowed to limit distractions. - Allow only messaging between the driver and customer while the cab is moving. - Detect if another phone is frequently nearby and trigger a safety alert. - Add an easy, visible option in the app for passengers to report, if the driver is on the phone without stopping. - Enforce reduced speed limits in residential areas using GPS, with penalties for violations. I know these might be hard to implement or not right suggestions, but then find right solutions, even if it’s not good for business for short-run. Also, consider the point of view; cab driver might be taking the phone of your customer only; but now he will be spent his life in Jail. 🛑 If we’re tackling so many complex challenges, why not prioritize road safety too? 🙏 Do something, so that lives can be saved. #Endphonedriving #cabs #makeroadsafe

When you make a delivery order on Uber, this is what a driver might see: $8.09 (including tip) for a 1 hour+ trip with 3 different orders & 3 different drop-offs. When you consider the cost of driving & the fact that you’ll be potentially missing out on ‘quality rides’ during that hour, it amounts to basically nothing or even losing money. This is why I only accept rides unless I need to use a bathroom. #UberDeliveries

In case you missed this; Mishcon de Reya represents over 10,500 London black cab drivers in a £250 million lawsuit against Uber. The drivers allege unlawful practices by Uber in the London taxi market from 2012 to 2018. Filed in the High Court, the claimants are seeking approximately £25,000 per driver. Mishcon contends that Uber intentionally misled Transport for London regarding its operating system to secure a Private Hire Vehicle Licence. Suppose financial constraints aren't a concern for Uber. In that case, the potential fallout from losing this case could have significant ramifications not only for Uber but also for other companies like Bolt. The outcome may prompt increased scrutiny and regulatory measures within the ride-hailing industry, affecting business models, operational practices, and market competitiveness for all players involved. What are some other impacts this case could have if Uber loses the case? Let me know below! #LegalNews #TransportationIndustry #RegulatoryCompliance #RideHailing #LegalIssues #BusinessLitigation #LondonBusiness #CorporateLaw #IndustryAnalysis #MarketImpact

Complain Alert 📢 Today I need to share my recent frustrating experience with the Uber Shuttle service. I've been using the service regularly, but their punctuality has been an absolute nightmare. The shuttle is almost always late, making it incredibly hard to plan my day. Though Uber asks you to reach your pick up point 5 minutes prior to the given timing but they never will be on time. It’s absolutely pathetic and disappointing that Uber doesn’t value its customers' time. To make matters worse, the driver I've had recently has been completely unprofessional. It's one thing to be late, but to have a driver who doesn't seem to care just adds to the frustration. They even get into long calls while driving. I really hope Uber steps up and addresses these issues. Reliable service and professional drivers are the least we should expect when we're paying for a ride. If anyone else is experiencing similar problems, let’s make our voices heard and demand better! #UberShuttleFail #CustomerService #PunctualityMatters #StepUpUber #FrustratedCustomer
