Throwback to February 2016, when Napal's ambassador Arjun Karki and I were deputized by Prime Minister K.P. Oli to break and expose India's secret economic blockade of Nepal. Here Ambassador Karki and I are pictured at the send-off of the first Boeing 747 cargo flight full of relief materials. This was the first of over a dozen such flights, organized by our Nepalese-Canadian friend and collaborator Charles Mendies. This effort became the largest privately funded airlift in history and ended up circumventing India's blockade. At the same time, we successfully got the American mainstream news media to finally cover the blockade. Less than two weeks later, India's leadership blinked and the blockade ended. However, not before killing tens of thousands of Nepalese due to hypothermia and lack of medical supplies. Fast forward to today: K.P. Oli is about to become prime minister again. A most exciting time for Nepal.

What if other countries in retaliation impose stricter restrictions on Indian Operators ? By the way, these are all regulated through Bi-lateral agreements between countries on a give & take mechanism. Key to success is, be Competitive than goody seeker. Almost all Airline Operators in India are run by Teams constituted by members of choice than Teams of Professionals inducted through competition. Surprisingly, in other industry sector in India, professionals struggle to get job after 50-55 yrs of age but in Indian Aviation Sector, especially in Airline, baring few, you will find key position holders are all Senior Citizen, for reasons other than merit. Bet, if one ever find Vacancy of even Manager floated in open Market. If the Positions itself are filled by choice than competition, how the organisation can be competitive ? You will barely find Senior / Top Management Executives from Aviation Sector / Airlines on Social Media i.e Linkedin etc, networking or sharing Positions among sea of talent in India. India is Ocean of Talents for all Industries including of Aviation , especially for Airline. Bottom-line is, Hire Talent only through competition in open market and not by Choice. To make Organisation competitive, Talent acquisition & retention has to be through a competitive process. 🚀 Exciting Times Ahead for Indian Aviation! 🚀 Congratulations to Ram Mohan Naidu on becoming the 34th Minister of Civil Aviation, marking a historic moment as the youngest member ever to join the Union Cabinet at just 36 years old! 🙌 Taking over from Jyotiraditya M Scindia, Minister Naidu steps into a dynamic and rapidly evolving aviation sector. Over the past two years, we've seen Indian carriers placing orders for a staggering 1,150 aircraft, all set for delivery by 2035. This monumental growth brings with it a unique set of challenges and complexities, including: 👉 Infrastructure Development: Expanding and modernizing airport infrastructure to accommodate the influx of new aircraft and increasing passenger traffic. 👉 Regulatory Reforms: Streamlining regulations to enhance efficiency and competitiveness while ensuring safety and security. 👉 Skill Development: Ensuring a skilled workforce to meet the demands of the growing industry through targeted training and education programs. Minister Naidu's leadership will be crucial in navigating these challenges and steering the Indian aviation industry towards unprecedented growth and success. I am thrilled to see how he will lead this vital sector to even greater heights. ✈️🌟 #Aviation #Innovation #CivilAviation #RamMohanNaidu #NewBeginnings
