In recent days, we welcomed 30 young diplomats from various African countries who are currently enrolled in the Executive Master in "Global Public Diplomacy and Sustainable Development" at the Luiss School of Government and UNITAR Education Group supported by the Ministero degli Affari Esteri e della Cooperazione Internazionale. In our #InnovationHub, we illustrated the crucial role of innovation in designing the airports of the future. Our Head of Innovation, Giulio Ranucci, explained ADR's ongoing commitment to foster new potential collaboration with the African continent both in terms of airports and cutting edge startups. The meeting was also an opportunity for Giannandrea Ingallinera, our expert on Sustainability Reporting & Compliance, to present Aeroporti di Roma's sustainability strategy and our leadership in achieving the goal of becoming Net-Zero Carbon by 2030. 🇩🇰 The concept of techplomacy was pioneered by the Danish government, which appointed the world's first Tech Ambassador to Silicon Valley, Casper Klynge, in 2017. This initiative was a response to the increasing importance of technology in global affairs and the need for governments to engage with the tech industry more effectively. 🔗 Techplomacy involves the conduct and practice of international relations, dialogue, and negotiations on global digital policy and emerging technological issues among states, the private sector, civil society, and other groups. It aims to bridge the gap between governments and tech companies, which often operate at a much faster pace than the public sector. 🤔 Techplomacy faces several challenges, including the need to define its scope and interactions, the cultural gap between governments and tech companies, and the under-representation of countries from the global south in the emerging techplomacy community. However, it also presents opportunities for governments to engage with the tech industry more effectively, build strategic partnerships, and influence the direction of technology and policy. 🌍 In conclusion, techplomacy is a new and evolving field that recognizes the critical role of technology in global affairs and the need for governments to engage with the tech industry more effectively. It presents both challenges and opportunities for governments and the tech industry alike, and its development is likely to shape the future of diplomacy and international relations. #Techplomacy #DigitalDiplomacy #GlobalTech #InternationalRelations #TechPolicy #GlobalSouth #InnovationDiplomacy #FutureOfDiplomacy #MMAMENA #MMAdictionary #ShapeTheFuture

🌍 In the world of the Orange Economy, creativity is the currency of change. Businesses in creative sectors—from design to film—are redefining how we measure success, blending social impact with innovative business models. By approaching challenges with empathy and problem-solving in mind, we can tackle some of the biggest social issues, from urban development to education. We just completed the third module of the program Orange economy at Unifranz Postgrado, and I want to extend a special thanks to the professors who guided us Pablo Hugo David Aguilar Achá Fadrique Iglesias Emiliano Cassina. They helped us gain a fresh perspective on how business and planning can align with people's needs—making real change possible through creativity and innovation. 🙌✨ It’s time to rethink what innovation means for both business and society.
