The lines between AI and robotics are becoming increasingly indistinct, setting the stage for a smarter, more integrated future. We've reached a point where AI is not only trained on vast swaths of the internet but also on select offline sources. It can comprehend and generate images, understand and speak multiple languages, and much more. The integration of AI into robotics is also gaining momentum. We've already witnessed the emergence of human-like robots, such as the 1X series, and the remarkably advanced Tesla robot with its lifelike hands. Enter Google's latest innovation: the RT-X series of generalist robots. Unlike their specialized counterparts, these robots are trained on diverse datasets and have even acquired skills not explicitly taught to them. While they may not resemble humans, they represent the convergence of robotics and AI. Teledyne FLIR just killed a cohort of AI startups with their #PRISM software. I was given a live demo on Friday on their software. What shall I say: impressive! All on chip or supporting Qualcomm or NVIDIA architectures. This development step is super logical and opens up a huge market for FLIR, not just selling their sensors but bundle it with best in class ML capabilities -> tracking, identification, classification, super resolution, anti blurr,…. you can even license their military data lake or build your own on premise. All tuned to their own IR cameras but also works with any EO stream (!) What do you think?
