⚠️ Fraud Alert ⚠️ We have seen an increase in people impersonating Aerotek recruiters requesting compensation in exchange for employment opportunities. If you receive suspicious communication from someone claiming to represent Aerotek that you believe to be a scam, we advise that you not respond and verify the identification of that person. Here’s how to tell if you’re working with an Aerotek recruiter: ✔️ Our recruiters will contact you via a phone call or with an @aerotek.com email address. We do not communicate with job seekers via Gmail / Telegram / WhatsApp. ✔️ Interviews will not be held over Google Hangouts, WhatsApp or Telegram. ✔️ We will never ask you for money – our services are at no cost to job seekers. ✔️ If you’re still unsure, call your local Aerotek office or message us directly to verify the recruiter’s identity. Please report fraudulent activity here: https://lnkd.in/gAmAmrF4
Do you communicate through text messages? Because I am currently receiving texts from an Aerotek Employment Agent about job openings.
ALERT! Fake recruiters sending texts. I just received this: “Hello, how are you now? I'm Julianne Sherman, Online Marketing Recruiter from Aerotek Group We are looking for part-time/full-time employees and freelancers Can I share more information with you?”
I had gone through the onboarding process, signed paperwork, they have my direct deposit information and next was the background check, now it’s been a few weeks and I haven’t heard from my recruiter. Won’t answer my phone calls or my emails
I filled out a form on Instagram last week, after a few days someone contacted me by Whatsapp with the Aerotek logo +1(404)8265482 asking my name and country. After that a manager "Carlos" +1(206)8653379 contacted me saying the lawyer will contact me, rapidly a woman with Colombian accent Melissa +1(914)5406874 called me and told me that she will be in charge to take my processes to get a visa (H2B), social security number, a card and account from Bank of America to get my pay every week, and the job offer from any company. She told me that I have sent her a photo of my passport and my sign in a papper. 5 days later (yesterday) the manager Carlos contacted me and showed me how he opened a mail correspondence with the answer about my processes and apparently I was APPROVED to get the H2B Visa. He showed me in a video call how it was reflected in the government system on the website CEAC.STATE.GOV ...they told me that I have to pay $1250 by Western Union in about 5 days to keep the processes. Luckily I was able to see this post on LinkedIn before paying. I have all the conversation voice recorded and also the videocall so I got the face of Carlos if you want it let me know. Everything was using Whatsapp.

3wI accepted a job offering from someone at aerotek who has a LinkedIn profile but I was sent a check to supposedly cover equipment. I hesitated to deposit it. Now I'm scared that it was a fake check. I did paperwork etc. Is this normal? Update: After contacting my bank it was verified the checks were fraudulent.
