As we navigate through the business world, we often face unique challenges and barriers that can hinder our growth and success. However, there is a powerful tool that can help us break through these barriers and reach new heights: mentorship. Having a mentor can make all the difference in our entrepreneurial journey. They can offer valuable insights, guidance, and support as we navigate through uncharted territories. They can also provide us with the necessary tools and resources to thrive in a competitive market. But mentorship is especially crucial for BIPOC women entrepreneurs. As we continue to face systemic barriers and lack representation in the business world, having a mentor who understands our struggles and can offer tailored guidance can be a game-changer. So to all my fellow BIPOC women entrepreneurs, I urge you to seek out mentorship opportunities. Whether it's through formal programs or informal relationships, having a mentor can propel you forward and help you reach your goals. And to those who have the privilege of being a mentor, I encourage you to pay it forward and uplift the next generation of BIPOC women entrepreneurs. Remember, mentorship is a powerful tool that can break down barriers, open doors, and pave the way for success. Read more about how important mentorship is: https://lnkd.in/gcz7YAVm

I didn’t get where I am on my own… I remember every single person who helped me along the way so far. This entrepreneur sitting next to me in the photo below is Sarah Wood. When I was just starting out—no big network, no proven track record, and no obvious reason why someone would see value in helping me—Sarah was the one who said yes. She supported me when I needed it most, giving me the opportunity to run my young entrepreneur workshop from her offices in London. No request for anything in return. No conditions. Just a genuine willingness to help someone trying to make a difference. 4 years later I found myself on stage next to her, gave her a big hug and said thank you. That moment has stayed with me, but Sarah’s kindness wasn’t a one-off. It’s part of who she is. Whether it’s mentoring, leading, or championing causes, Sarah consistently shows up with generosity and heart. From co-founding Unruly to becoming an OBE awardee and advocating for initiatives like Women Supporting Women. Sarah’s professional achievements are inspiring. But for me, her real legacy is how she uplifts people and helps them believe in what’s possible. So, here’s to Sarah and all the leaders who remind us that kindness and generosity aren’t just qualities—they’re what change lives. 🙌 #KindnessInLeadership #Gratitude #Entrepreneurship #Inspiration

When I tell you God showed up yesterday, He truly did. Like always, I prepared thoroughly—slides, talking points, handouts, and activities—ready to engage and deliver. Several women RSVP’d, excited to talk about entrepreneurship, but when the time came, only two women attended. Initially, this could’ve been disappointing, but I prayed for exactly who needed to be there, and God answered. I’ve committed to serving whether it's 1 or 1,000 people, staying faithful to the vision God has given me. What I witnessed yesterday was a reminder that success isn’t always about numbers; it’s about impact. It’s about creating a deep, safe space where women can connect, grow, and build their dreams. The SheBuilders Community isn’t just another group—it’s a place for real conversations, healing, and empowerment. As an added bonus, I had the pleasure of working with my mini-assistant, my daughter Zelah Pearl, who helped me set up and break down the event. When she told me, “Mom, you did a really good job today,” it was a proud moment as a mother and entrepreneur. If you’re a woman navigating faith, family, and business, I invite you to join us. Our next gathering is on **Saturday, October 19, 2-4pm** at the Milwaukee Public Library East Branch for the She Builds: Motherhood Gathering. Let’s continue building, one step at a time. 💪 #Leadership #Entrepreneurship #WomenInBusiness #FaithDriven #GrowthMindset #PersonalDevelopment #WomenOfFaith #SheBuilds #MilwaukeeEntrepreneurs #SheBuildersCommunity

Today, I want to talk about something that's close to my heart, the power of mentorship and the critical role of role models in shaping the journeys of women in business. Throughout my career, the guidance and wisdom of mentors have been invaluable. They've not only helped me navigate complex business challenges but also inspired me to reach higher and dream bigger. This is especially vital for women in the entrepreneurial world, where role models can highlight paths that might otherwise seem unattainable. Mentorship isn't just about giving advice. It's about listening, understanding, and empowering. It's about being a sounding board for ideas and a source of encouragement during tough times. Effective mentors don't just guide; they inspire confidence and foster independence, allowing mentees to find their unique voices and paths to success. This brings me to an important question: How can we, as established female business women become effective mentors to support and uplift the next generation of female entrepreneurs? Sharing our experiences and wisdom can create a supportive network that not only helps individual mentees but also strengthens female entrepreneurship in its entirety. Your insights could help guide an aspiring or established entrepreneur towards her path to success. #DishaSolanki #Mentorship #WomenInBusiness #EmpoweringWomen #NextGenLeaders #RoleModels

Leading Wings Women Entrepreneurs Group over the past few years has been an incredible journey, filled with growth, challenges, and invaluable lessons. Running a membership group, just like running a business, is no easy task. What I've learned is that the key to success lies in listening to members, creating programming that truly addresses their pain points, and fostering a strong, supportive community. Yesterday’s retreat was a perfect example of this. It was driven by feedback from our amazing members, focusing on what they really needed—and it was a huge success! We all walked away with practical tools to push our businesses forward. Stay tuned as I share some of the biggest challenges women business owners face, along with the tools and resources we use to tackle them. 💪 #WomenInBusiness #WiNGsLeadership #EntrepreneurLife #CommunitySupport #WomenEmpowerment #BusinessGrowth

Imagine this... A world where young people are finally able to name not 1 female entrepreneur, but 100. I read a shocking stat this week that 8 in 10 young people can’t name a female entrepreneur. This is wild. Not only is it wild, it's sad. I'm surrounded by incredible female founders all the time (trust me, there's no shortage of them). Yet young people can't see the potential of what they could become. Today is International Day of the Girl, a UN initiative about rights and empowerment of girls. The day encourages girls to dream big, to pursue their goals. But girls can only do this when they see and can name role models they look up to. So here's what you can do to help make a change: 👉 Share stories about female entrepreneurs with teens 👉 Support media outlets that back female entrepreneurs 👉 Buy from female owned business and services 👉 Invite female speakers to your company / school 👉 Use your platform to feature female entrepreneurs This week I was part of an amazing campaign that Female Founders Rise are putting together to combat this. But so much more can be done And everyone can take action. Shouting out the incredible female entrepreneurs in this picture: ❤️ Dr. Dupe Burgess ❤️ Rachel Carrell ❤️ Emmie Faust ♻️ Repost if you're ready to change up the narrative 👉 Follow me Jas for more posts like this
