Rather than: Worked at a clinic doing different things with animals. Try: Organized animal diagnosis notes, provided medical assistance, assisted with health recommendations and sterilized tools for certain procedures. 2. Make sure the verbs are not redundant. Rather than: Instructing, helping, and teaching children tennis . Try: Instructed tennis students in proper technique, while imparting lessons in sportsmanship and integrity. Aim for variety and vary your word usage. 3. Emphasize and quantify tangible, measurable impact. Rather than: Raised money for Special Olympics. Try: Raised $1,000 to provide 10 scholarships for special needs students attending "Special Olympics" in Mt. Pleasant, Michigan. The Kansas Board of Education is set to deny accreditation to Urban Preparatory Academy, a private K-8 school that accepts tax-credit scholarships through the state. A report indicated that the school failed to provide assessment test scores and other information required for accreditation. When asked about its failure to submit required documents, the academy’s director, Wichita pastor Wade Moore, stated that it was due to the lack of internet access and computers. While Urban Preparatory Academy plans on seeking accreditation from the Association of Christian Schools International, its inability to obtain the required accreditation by the state board may lead to difficulty in receiving corporate donations through Kansas' tax credit program. Kansas statute requires schools granted funds through such programs to receive accreditation either from a national or regional accrediting agency recognized by its state board; however, private schools are not obligated under this statute but can chose whether they want participate or not. One noticeable issue in Moose's defense is that Urban Preparatory Academy did not participate in State’s testing which might raise questions on how well-equipped faculty members are with monitoring progress. Private schools receiving scholarships should be held accountable for delivering quality education as an alternative educational option for parents who prefer it beyond their backyard public school system. This is a matter for the whole education sector and there are state schools concerned by the lack of of modelling that lies behind the declared policy. We need a collaborative and unified approach. State schools fear the loss of great partnerships with independent schools and the prospect of being swamped when already under resourced Where is this leadership comming from.
