“It’s hard to win someone’s trust. But I was able to build that trust with Stephen.” For the past two years, Divashni has been supporting Stephen, one of our clients living in a Specialist Disability Accommodation (SDA) apartment. Stephen lives with motor neurone disease or MND, a condition which affects a person’s motor nerves, causing muscles to become weaker. He finds solace in his spiritual life but finds it challenging to travel. “Because he would have phobia, he would be shaking in the car,” Divashni says. “I said, let’s try.” They started with short trips, until finally, with Divashni’s care and assistance, he was able to visit Hindu temples in Parramatta, Minto and Wollongong. 📣 Compulsory NDIS provider registration coming soon! The Government will now require all platform providers, support coordinators and Supported Independent Living (SIL) providers to be registered 🏡 This is in response to the NDIS Provider and Worker Registration Taskforce recommendations released in August. However, this change requires amendments to the NDIS Rules. Meet Ben ✨ Benjamin Yeh is our Chief Clinical, Risk and Governance Officer. He leads our CRG team, which ensures our clients receive the highest standard of care, and that our nurses, support workers and staff adhere to strict standards and best practices. Ben has a diverse background in the healthcare field, with a career that spans almost 20 years. With a solid foundation as a general trained nurse, he has honed his expertise in mental health, quality and risk management and national governance roles across various healthcare sectors, including aged care, hospitals and community services. Outside of work, you'll find Ben catching up with family and friends, whether it’s hosting dinner parties, going to Yum Cha, playing Nintendo or just enjoying some good company 🥟🍷🎮 Domesticity is bliss, so you might also find him colour-coding his wardrobe, working in the garden or cleaning out a cupboard!
