I've even noticed it myself – throw my sisters in a story, and BAM! Engagement goes through the roof. It's not just about likes, though. Women seem to create genuine connections online. Look at the comments – it's a constant stream of "you go girl!" and "love your style!" There's a real sense of community and support. As content creators, we gotta understand this "female factor." Thank you to The Female Lead for inviting me to their #PrimeTime event, celebrating and exploring the power of women over 40, inspired by the photography of Sane Seven! The event featured an incredibly inspirational panel led by Edwina Dunn OBE, Founder of The Female Lead, in conversation with Gaby Huddart, Editor at Large at Good Housekeeping, Rose Sandy, Publisher, Author and Founder of Silver Gravity Entertainment, and Deborah Joseph, Editor in Chief at Glamour Magazine. These remarkable women shared their career journeys and successes after 40, offering invaluable insights into the unmatched experience, expertise, resilience and adaptability of women over 40. One standout piece of wisdom came from Rose Sandy, who pointed out that If you aren't actively investing in realising your own goals, you are probably contributing to someone else realising theirs... This resonated deeply with me, emphasising the importance of identifying and pursuing our own aspirations. I also loved Deborah Joseph's concept of living your best "70% life". She spoke about the difficult of wanting to "have it all", and explained that you likely can't juggle everything at the same time (or at least not well). Instead, identify and prioritise the most important 70% of your life and consciously, unapologetically give up the rest. This perspective is a definitely a game changer – it's about giving 100% to your 70%. ALWAYS! and as our brains are wired and better adjusted to participate in wars, rather than enjoy the tranquility of peace, and the same rule goes to social media too. this is how the orocess looks like: You are TRIGGERED ➣ you comment ➣ creators' engagement and outreach grows. So here are 3 brave ways, you as a woman to grow your engagement 1. Dont wear a bra in your Video 2. Say you look 21, when you are 45 3. One of the easiest ways YOU can help redress the imbalance that still has women earning less than men, still sees women left out of critical decision-making, still results in women missing out on promotions, development and other opportunities? Hype a woman. Hype more than one. Do it every day. Here’s how you hype women (a non-exclusive list, for women and men) 👏 Take the initiative to raise a talented woman’s profile. 👏 Speak her name in rooms she’s not present in. 👏 Reference her ideas and expertise in relevant discussions. 👏 Insist she be present at key meetings. 👏 Amplify her discussion points and give credit to her thinking. 👏 Challenge her imposter syndrome when you see it limiting her self-belief. 👏 Encourage her to apply for promotions, development programs and other opportunities. 👏 Actively introduce her to key people in your network. 👏 Celebrate her accomplishments with her. 👏 Hand her the mic (or the spotlight, or the chair). 👏 Send the email that praises her contribution to her peers, bosses or clients — and copy her in. 👏 Give her a shout-out in your social media. 👏 Make space in your circle for her when you spot her at one of those god-awful “networking” events 👏 Refuse to join a speaker panel unless there’s effective gender representation on the panel. 👏 If you're looking for an expert to quote, to invite, to recruit, look for a woman first. 👏 Consistently speak well of the women in your orbit, even if your gut instinct is to joke, judge or compare.
