#ANIA2024 left us in awe of Kelly Aldrich DNP, RN, NI-BC, FHIMSS, FAAN and her profound insights into nursing progress. As a nurse-founded and nurse-led organization, we echo the sentiment that #nurses don't wait for a seat at the table; we've been leading the way all along. 👩🏻⚕️ 💪🏾 Equally impactful was her distinction between innovation and transformation. It's not just about having a brilliant idea; it's about executing it reliably and with purpose, ensuring lasting progress and meaningful change. 🌐 At #NurseDisrupted, we are proud to have been successfully live with #VirtualNursing since 2020. As we continue to innovate, we do so on the foundation of years of experience and execution. #NurseLeadership #HealthcareTransformation #FutureofNursing #NursingInformatics

For examples of what “going above and beyond” looks like, please keep reading… Robyn (our Nurse & Care Manager) is too humble to brag about what she does every day, so I’m going to do it for her and share a few examples (suggesting you read ‘til the end, the last one still gets me). Challenge 1: A client of ours was a fall-risk and discombobulated. We had to be there 50+ hours per week just to keep her safe. - The solution: Following Robyn’s recommendations, the doctors reevaluated medications and made the adjustments she suggested! - Today: The client is back to independence! It was the medications and the doctors agreed with Robyn! Our main caregiver is still there 20 hours per week just for some companionship and fun activities, but the client is SO much better! Challenge #2: An out-of-town family was extremely concerned about their dad since he was all alone and they couldn’t be with him yet so they hired us. - The solution: Robyn coached our team of caregivers to keep him safe and provide daily updates to the family including photos, notes & suggestions. Robyn even drove & joined him at doctor’s appointments to ask questions and report back to the family, and provided her own weekly reports & tips for the family. - Today, the client has graduated off our services, he finally got to move to be closer to his family, and the family is forever grateful. Challenge #3: A client was battling depression and could no longer maintain her once-beautiful backyard garden. - The solution: Robyn was off work one morning, and we agreed to meet at the client’s home that afternoon. When I arrived, Robyn was wearing jeans and a t-shirt, and holding a rake and trash bag. She had been there all morning clearing out the garden of weeds, and making the garden look wonderful again. The client was nearly in tears as she sat & watched Robyn begin to restore her garden it to its former beauty. - Today, the client’s depression has subsided (med adjustments helped!) and her garden hasn’t looked this great in years. I had to emphasize to the client’s family that yard work is not a “normal” task in the home care industry, it’s just that Robyn just can’t help herself sometimes LOL. To Robyn, and to all of the wonderful healthcare workers & caregivers who go above and beyond even when no one is looking, THANK YOU.
🎉 Happy Nurses Week! 🩺 Let's take a moment to celebrate our incredible nurse, our Director of Care, Robyn! 💙 Robyn's unwavering dedication, boundless compassion, infectious humor, and thoughtful leadership inspire us all. We are beyond fortunate to have her guiding us every step of the way. Thank you, Robyn, for all that you do! 🌟 #NursesWeek #RobynRocks #ThankYouNurses

Happy Nurse's Week 2024! I am so proud to be a 4th generation nurse that stands on the shoulders of countless legends. My promise to the nurses that have paved the path for my success so far has 2 parts: 1. I promise to be intentional and grateful. I commit to surround myself with people that share my passion & celebrate each other's contributions - Iron Sharpens Iron. I am ecstatic to work with a courageous and innovative team of Nurses that are mission driven to deliver a workforce reality enabling clinicians with flexibility and the compensation they desire while creating financial sustainability and reliability for healthcare organizations. 2. I promise to say the hard things that need to be said. For instance, as we dive headlong into a new age of disruption & innovation at warp speed: if you're a healthcare leader whose organization is partnering with "technology firms" that don't have a Nurse voice at their executive table, ask them how they develop strategic solutions that are meaningful to real clinical users in a rapidly evolving environment. Then, ask yourself how many hours you've spent teaching them why/how systems need to operate in order to deliver seamless user interfaces & experience. If you don't like the answers, come sit by me and lets talk.

I have heard this many times over this week from attendees. There is a wealth of untapped potential in nursing for innovation and tech. A few thoughts: The first "crash cart" was created by nurses who saw a need to have all emergency supplies in one portable grouping, to bring to the crisis. Get nurses in your innovation and tech spaces to help problem solve. If you give them the problem at hand, they are fantastic and finding many solutions. Healthcare is the biggest lagger in adopting technology. Nursing has the holistic view to bring it to the bedside faster. One statement to this I use is there are 3 ways to skin a cat, but a nurse will show you nine. Let them innovate. #nursing #innovation #healthcare #informatics

🩺 𝐒𝐞𝐥𝐟-𝐂𝐨𝐦𝐩𝐚𝐬𝐬𝐢𝐨𝐧 & 𝐒𝐮𝐩𝐩𝐨𝐫𝐭: 𝐘𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐒𝐡𝐢𝐟𝐭 𝐋𝐢𝐟𝐞𝐥𝐢𝐧𝐞 As nurses, we give everything to others—but what about ourselves? I used to think I had to push through no matter what, but I learned that you can't pour from an empty cup. Here’s what helped me: 1️⃣ Self-compassion isn’t selfish; it’s essential. Treat yourself with the same care you give your patients. Rest, say “no,” and allow yourself grace. 2️⃣ Empathy starts with you. Be kind to yourself, and you’ll have more to give to others. 3️⃣ Asking for help is a strength, not a weakness. Lean on your community; you're not in this alone. ❤️ Take a moment for yourself—join me in the 𝐍𝐮𝐫𝐬𝐞 𝐖𝐞𝐥𝐥𝐁𝐞𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐑𝐞𝐬𝐞𝐭: 𝐄𝐦𝐛𝐫𝐚𝐜𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐒𝐞𝐥𝐟-𝐂𝐨𝐦𝐩𝐚𝐬𝐬𝐢𝐨𝐧 webinar! 𝐌𝐲 𝐓𝐚𝐤𝐞 𝐎𝐧 𝐓𝐡𝐢𝐬 𝐘𝐞𝐚𝐫'𝐬 𝐍𝐮𝐫𝐬𝐞𝐬 𝐖𝐞𝐞𝐤 𝐓𝐡𝐞𝐦𝐞: As I look forward to the coming weeks of celebrating with nurses and Nurse Leaders nationwide know that Inspire Nurse Leaders is proud to support American Nurses Association's Nurses Week, May 6-12. This year’s theme is “Nurses Make the Difference.” My initial reaction to this theme was, “Well of course nurses make the difference!” We are privileged to serve in the vital role that is the most common vehicle for care delivery across the globe. We usher in life, and we solemnly witness its exit. On reflection, the theme led me to think about how much 𝗣𝗢𝗪𝗘𝗥, 𝗣𝗢𝗧𝗘𝗡𝗧𝗜𝗔𝗟, 𝗔𝗡𝗗 𝗜𝗡𝗙𝗟𝗨𝗘𝗡𝗖𝗘 nurses have in that role! 💪 It reminded me of one of my favorite passages from 𝙏𝙝𝙚 𝙇𝙚𝙖𝙙𝙚𝙧𝙨𝙝𝙞𝙥 𝘾𝙝𝙖𝙡𝙡𝙚𝙣𝙜𝙚 by Jim Kouzes and Barry Posner, Ph.D. “In these turbulent times, there is no shortage of opportunities to lead, and our organizations and the world need more people to who believe they can make a difference and who are willing to act on that belief.” 🎉 As we prepare for this celebratory week, I encourage Nurse Leaders to step into their power by considering these 3 important questions: ⭐ How are you acting on the belief that YOU make a difference? ⭐ What kind of difference do YOU want to make and where? ⭐ How can YOU amplify the difference YOU want to make? Nurses and Nurse Leaders hold a sacred space because of the proximity and time we spend with people during the most vulnerable moments of life. Surely there is no larger opportunity to make a difference! #nursesonlinkedin #nursesweek #leadership #impact #healthcare

In the month of May, The Nursing Beat sold out sponsorship in our daily digital #newsletter for #nurses. That surely wasn't the case two years ago and my advice to those building a media brand is: 👉 Forge connections, not transactions - Earning trust is key. Taking the time to build a relationship and gain mutual respect will carry you farther - a quick sell never works in the long run. 👉 Listen - It's easy to talk about yourself and what your organization can bring to the table, but the true value lies in understanding a company's challenges and offering solutions. 👉 Don't take 'no' personally - It might not be the right time, there might not be alignment in goals - But that can shift, so you have to consistently reassess your relationship with organizations to determine if there's a fit. As we enter Nurses Week on Monday, I am super proud of the organizations that we are partnering with at The Nursing Beat, who continue to serve as true allies in building a better future for #nursing. #nursesonlinkedin
