Happy International Women’s Day! At Affinity, we believe in supporting our female colleagues to flourish. One of the challenges of the private equity industry is that there are fewer number of female investment professionals. In response to this, we have committed to interview and shortlist a female candidate for every open role. In doing so, we hope to provide more opportunities for female investment professionals in our industry. In our portfolio engagement, we have worked with the boards to appoint female board members. The percentage of our portfolio companies with female board members has grown from 35% to 74% over the last 2 years. We look forward to more milestones in this journey toward a more diverse and inclusive workforce in private equity industry! #internationalwomensday2024

Bigfoot - 👹 myth Chupacabra - 🧛🏽♂️🐐 myth Abominable Snowmen - ☃️ myth Women in PE - 👭🏽👭🏽 myth? One of the most common things I hear as a diversity-focused recruiter is, “there just aren’t enough women in the space to recruit”. Guess what?! 🐂 💩 This myth often stems from a lack of awareness about the untapped pool of qualified female talent available. While it's true that the proportion of women may be lower, this doesn't preclude firms from actively seeking and attracting female candidates. By engaging with talent partners who focus on diverse talent pools, conducting inclusive outreach, and fostering a supportive work environment, firms can attract AND retain top female talent. Don’t let this myth hold your firm back! So, the next time someone tries to convince you that women in PE are as rare as Bigfoot sightings, throw in a hearty laugh, debunk the myth, and point them my way! They might gasp when I tell them that I have close to 9000 female investment professionals in my database! Yes, you heard it right – I can confirm it's not a mythical number. . . . #privatecredit #privateequity #diversity #womeninbiz

The Richest Women in the World On International Women’s Day, we celebrate the achievements of the world’s richest women while recognizing the gender disparities that persist in wealth accumulation. From Francoise Bettencourt Meyers, whose fortune stems from her inheritance in L’Oréal, to Mackenzie Scott’s substantial wealth amassed through her divorce from Amazon’s founder, Jeff Bezos, these women’s stories highlight diverse paths to affluence. However, underlying their success stories is a sobering reminder of the gender wealth gap, wherein even the wealthiest women lag significantly behind their male counterparts. The richest woman in the world is the 15th richest person in the world. While names like Alice Walton and Julia Koch are synonymous with vast fortunes built on family legacies, others like Gina Rinehart have made their mark through ventures in mining and natural resources. Yet, despite their remarkable achievements, they remain exceptions rather than the rule in a world where economic power remains predominantly male. International Women’s Day serves as a call to action to address these disparities, to break down barriers that hinder women’s economic progress, and to create a more equitable world for all. As we commemorate International Women’s Day, we honor the resilience, ingenuity, and contributions of women worldwide. It’s a day to champion equity in all spheres, including economics, where women continue to face systemic challenges. By recognizing the achievements of the world’s wealthiest women and acknowledging the ongoing struggle for equity, we reaffirm our commitment to building a future where every one has the opportunity to thrive, regardless of gender. #HappyInternationalWomensDay

💟 IT'S INTERNATIONAL WOMENS DAY! 💟 As we celebrate International Women's Day, let's dive into a topic close to my day-to-day work and one I’m keen to highlight – the incredible successes of women in finance! ✨ 💼 💪🏽 💬 You might have heard the following statistic: Men apply for a job when they meet only 60% of the qualifications, but women apply only if they meet 100% of them... 💬 Of course, confidence is key, but fixating on 100% of a job description may hold you back… As your recruiter, I always ensure I know the client's must-haves for a role. So if you're considering an application, I've got the inside scoop on what's non-negotiable - let's chat and make that move together! 🚀 📈 As we step into 2024, I wanted to share some personal statistics that highlight the strides we’re making: ✅ Powerful Placements: Since joining Agora, I’m thrilled to share that 46.2% of the roles I've filled have gone to phenomenal women. ✅ Nurturing Diversity: This year, a proud 40% of the CVs I've shared with clients have been from women. ✅ Insightful Interviews: 61% of CVs shared which have then been invited to client interview have been from women! Keep doing what you’re doing, it’s working. 💪🏽 🏆 Gone are the days when finance was considered a boys' club; the finance world thrives on diversity, and women bring a wealth of perspectives that drive innovation. Let's foster an environment where women in finance not only survive, but thrive. 🌐 💙 💭 I'd love to hear your thoughts. Who are the women that inspire you? Drop a like, share your stories in the comments, and let's continue this conversation on celebrating and supporting the incredible women in our finance community. 💭 #InternationalWomensDay #WomenInFinance #DiversityInFinance #JobOpportunities #OwnYourCareer #CareerDevelopment #CareerSuccess

Hinds Sight is here with Paul’s thoughts on the latest news in Wealth Management... "This is a fantastic article highlighting the growing influence of women in wealth management. As a recruitment expert specializing in finance, I've seen firsthand the increasing number of women in senior positions within investment firms. I'm particularly impressed with the article's focus on the unique investment needs and preferences of women. The survey findings provide valuable insights into their engagement habits and attitudes towards sustainable investments. I believe that firms that can effectively cater to these needs will not only see increased business but also contribute to a more inclusive and equitable financial landscape" Given the increasing number of women in senior finance roles, what are the key skills and qualities that firms should be looking for in female candidates to attract and retain top talent in this field? #wealthaccumulation #womeninfinance #wealthmanagement #financialadvisors

As we celebrate International Women's Day this year, it is important to highlight the tremendous achievements of women who have risen to the pinnacle of their professions. Whether serving as Presidents, Ministers, or CEOs of Fortune 500 firms, Directors, Managers, Business owners, Domestic staff and so much more. These women have demonstrated amazing tenacity, perseverance, and resilience to get where they are today. Their journey has not been easy. They faced obstacles, discrimination, and challenges that would cause many others to fail. Nonetheless, through sheer determination, discipline and dedication, they have shattered glass ceilings and opened the path for others to follow. The journey doesn't end there. It is not just about personal success, but about lifting others up along the way. As they stand on the pinnacle of their achievements, they have a unique opportunity and responsibility to reach out and support other women striving to make their mark. Imagine the impact if every successful woman extended a hand to lift up another aspiring woman. Together, we can create a ripple effect of empowerment, encouragement, and inspiration that knows no bounds. So, let's rally together, not just on International Women's Day, but every day, to build a world where every woman has the opportunity to soar. Let's invest in our women - inspire inclusion, instill discipline, foster mentorship and champion each other's successes. Because when one woman succeeds, we all succeed. # Inspireinclusion
