Literally everyone I know could benefit from this simple 2024 resolution: Become less “Internet Invisible”. Become more Googleable. Here’s what I mean and why it will help you: If someone Googles your name and multiple different sources singing your praises DON’T show up, you’re going to have a harder time: - getting a new job - getting a raise at your current job - taking the next step in your career There’s tons of easy ways to start showing up in the search results exactly the way you want to be perceived. Make this your #1 goal next year and watch the opportunities unfold.

#tiptuesday Tips for LinkedIn InMails LinkedIn is such a powerful tool to make contact with #recruiters or #professionals from companies or industries you’d like to join, and it all begins with the InMail to start the conversation. Here are some tips to think about when crafting that initial message: ✅ Think of how you’d respond to a total stranger. Try to put yourself in the shoes of the other party and think of what you would reply to if you got a new DM. ✅ Keep your first message short. A majority of platform users are checking messages on their phone. If your message is longer than “one thumb swipe”, you run the risk of it not being read. ✅ Do not share your life story just yet. Your priority is to create the engagement so there’s a reply. Perhaps a question about the company or an ask to learn about the industry from their perspective is more appropriate. ✅ Do not assume anything. If you are contacting a recruiter seeking information about a role, don’t assume they have the the pulse in every job posting or know every recruiter/hiring partner in the company. I’ve had pushy people almost demand things from me in this context, and it’s not fun. Hope this helps! #recruiterlife #networking #linkedin #disneyinterns #veterans #militarycommunity #disneycollegeprogram #disneyaspire #disneymug #coffeemug #coffee

LinkedIn can be overwhelming, particularly at the start of a new month. The feed is filled with celebratory posts about; 🌟New jobs, 🌟Promotions, 🌟School admissions, 🌟Successful business deals etc. If you're in the midst of a job search, school applications, or chasing clients without apparent success, this period on LinkedIn can be challenging. Rather than offering the usual "I understand you," I want to encourage you to see inspiration here and and keep at it! Take advantage of the various growth resources LinkedIn and various people share on this platform to your advantage. It can be; 🌟Learning a new skill in your field to stand out or, 🌟Revamping your CV or personal statement or, 🌟Reaching out to current employees of the company you want to work at/ do business with or students of the school you want to get into to get more insights. Whatever it takes! You are doing great and I look forward to seeing your celebratory posts soon. Happy New Month LinkedIn Fam🎉 #acelinkedin #newmonth #growthmindset #dontquit

I hear ya’. It’s frustrating and exhausting, physically, mentally and emotionally, to put in all that work into applying but still come up empty. Hear me out though: With 300,000+ people laid off just in tech in 2023 and more than 70,000 in 2024 so far, there’s a lot more competition than usual. If you’re doing nothing but applying (which is what most people do), it’s absolutely crucial that you change your job search strategy, go beyond the job boards and really lean into strategic networking, pushing past your comfort zone and putting yourself out there by using Linkedin not just as a static placeholder and just another job board but as your digital dossier, as your portfolio site within a platform that has 1 billion members, many of whom could lead to your next job. #jobsearch #jobsearchtips #careercoach

Here are the steps I would follow before applying for a job, 1) Read the job description and make sure it is what you are looking for. 2) Research the company. -Check their Linkedin Page, Glassdoor -Startup companies may not have Glassdoor reviews,I would search in google to check any news about the company. 3) Check if there are any employees in the company, There are many fake jobs where you might find people profile in the company linkedin page which are fake. 4) Dont apply if you feel it is not a genuine company,This saves you a lot of time and energy. Do you all have anything else to add,Please do in comments ⬇
