"Today, we observe the World Day of International Justice, a day to reaffirm our commitment to the principles of justice, human rights, and the rule of law. As Martin Luther King Jr. profoundly stated, 'Injustice anywhere is a threat to justice everywhere.' Let us remember that our actions, no matter how small, contribute to a larger network of mutuality and destiny. Together, we can ensure that justice prevails, protecting the dignity and rights of every individual around the world. #WorldDayOfInternationalJustice #InternationalJusticeDay #JusticeMatters #JusticeForAll #GlobalJusticeDay #PromoteJustice #StandForJustice #JusticeAndPeace #EndImpunity #JusticeEqualityDignity

Today we honor and celebrate Martin Luther King Jr and his contribution to the United States of America. It is important to teach what happened during the civil rights movement and about the important figures that helped shape our country. Child of the Civil Rights Movement by Paula Young Shelton and Raul Colón is a great book begin teaching about civil rights. The book gives an overview of Jim Crowe laws, the differences between states and the people involved in fighting for equal rights. #childrensliterature #historicalfiction #childrensbooks #IEPadvocate #martinlutherkingjr #historymatters #blackhistory #americanhistory

Join TRG's Kim (Ky) Koroma-Tommy, PMP, Toyosi Olowoyeye, and Arthur Romano today at 2:00pm ET for a virtual breakout session on Creating More Just, Equitable, and Sustainable Projects by Applying Kingian Nonviolence Principles, at Society for International Development, United States (SID-US)’s 2024 Annual Conference! As we look to overcome some of the globe’s most urgent and daunting challenges, the way in which we work together to achieve these goals should reflect that kind of world we seek to create and support. The theory and practice of nonviolence has been at the core of some of history’s most successful and enduring movements for positive change. Nonviolence is also rooted in cultural traditions, wisdom, and experiences from across the globe. This session looks specifically at Dr. Martin Luther King Jr’s 6 principles of nonviolence, which outlined the organizing philosophy for the US Civil Rights Movement. This session invites participants into conversation about how they see their own work in international development through the lens of these 6 principles and what it means for how they choose to design, manage, and lead projects that are intended to create more justice, equity, and sustainability.
