I love symmetry, harmony, and repetition a *lot*: as compositional elements they make my brain very happy. During the editing process I'm not above removing small incongruous elements if I think they detract from the overall scene. Painters leave things out all the time; photography doesn't need to be any different. That said, incongruous is not a value judgement. The strange, unusual, or unexpected can enhance a scene. It can *be* the scene. It's all a matter of perspective. (Cross-posted from my blog: https://lnkd.in/ge6KPRtd)

Cristina de Middel's approach to photography is characterized by an enduring curiosity and playfulness. In her online course, Stranger than Reality, De Middel eschews setting strict rules or axioms in favour of encouraging viewers to discover and cultivate a unique photographic voice. In this clip, De Middel walks viewers through her method of pre-visualising work by translating ideas to sketches, and how this was channeled to create images for her series Journey to the Center. Often you have an idea you wish to communicate, but more often than not, you are not 100% sure how to execute it. Well, one of my specialties is commercial photography. I can help materialize most concepts out of your head. Is it somebody skydiving while sipping on your product, how about juggling close to 100 items to get your point across? Yup, I can do it. I use composite techniques to mix creative editing with world class photo captures to get your point across. Here is an example:

Photography is rewriting light and to rewrite that light you've got to understand the exposure triangle. My teacher had me mastering this for 6months before moving on to things like composition. The more I teach the more I understand why. Light and The Exposure triangle are the heartbeat of photography. Understanding how to manipulate light will separate you from many. We are going to have a mini series learning all about the exposure triangle. Also it helps me document this to lessen the time teaching😅 #photographytips #camerabasics

Satisfaction in Partnership - Inspiration 1 "Small things" are also very important. When bad "small thing" is million time repeated-it hurts like the "big thing"... and can damage the relation too. It is similar to classical Photography (paper with photosurface). When bended over (folded) once or few times - no problem ... but: folded many times - it makes scratches on surface, ...folded million times - it will cause the whole photo to be disturbed, to the point of splitting into two parts = disintegration of both sides of photography..., at the end. Summary: Do not "fold" your Partnership - with bad small things. (Series of inspiration continues tomorrow)

The title of your About page: When users reach this page, what do they see at the top? Don’t just leave the title “About” or “Bio”, people already know they’re on that page, they clicked on the navigation link to get there. Try to get more personal than just “About John Doe Photography”, and say something more conversational (“Welcome to…”, “Who we are”, “Meet John Doe”, etc.)

Capturing the moment… …and halting it in time… …memorializing it with perfect focus, brightness, and hue… …provides a quality that can delight beyond what we observe in the moment. Why? Might some moments demand more time than the present allows? Might we need to see things from different angles and lighting? Might we need to shift our own state and perspective? What photography - and art a large - allows… …is to make past into present… …and present into eternal future. Or perhaps might it eliminate the evanescence of time altogether…
