African Astronomical Society’s Post

Astronomy is among the thematic priority areas of the African Outer Space Programme. The African Union's interest in the development of astronomy in Africa can, in part, be traced to 2010, when African Heads of State and Governments endorsed South Africa's bid to host the Square Kilometre Array (SKA). Join our Membership, Science Chairs, Dr. Youssef Mulane, Prof. James Chibueze, and Dr. Charles Takalana, our Secretariat as they reflect on the deliberations, outcomes, and impact of the IAU-GA. They will also discuss plans to leverage the current interests and IAUGA momentum, especially for the next generation of astronomers. #AfAS #11SeptemberMeeting #AfricaAstronomy
