I am deeply saddened by the passing of Hon. Sarah Mateke, Woman MP for Kisoro District and Minister of State for Defence and Veteran Affairs, which occurred yesterday. During her time as the Minister of State for Gender, Labour, and Social Development (Children and Youth Affairs), Hon. Mateke was a passionate advocate for children’s rights. She showed unwavering commitment to the cause and generously supported @joyforchildren whenever called upon. Our heartfelt condolences go out to her family, loved ones, and friends. May her soul rest in eternal peace.
