Granting African representatives a seat on the United Nations Security Council (UNSC) without veto power raises two critical concerns. First, without veto power, African nations are symbolically included but lack real influence, as key decisions would still be controlled by the current permanent members. This incomplete representation undermines their position in the decision-making process. Second, in the context of the fading unipolar order and the rise of multipolarity, the UNSC must be restructured to reflect Africa’s growing geopolitical significance. Without veto authority, African countries remain marginalized, making their inclusion more performative than transformative. The U.S. Ambassador to the U.N. is not being fully honest. If the US is serious, then African nations should be granted veto power alongside the two UNSC seats. https://lnkd.in/g7nJFsfj #VetoForAfrica #UNSCReform #EqualGlobalRepresentation

BREAKING| 12 public resignees from the Biden Administration issued a joint statement stating that the US administration’s policy in Gaza is "a failure and a threat to US national security." ⭕️America’s diplomatic cover for, and continuous flow of arms to, Israel has ensured our undeniable complicity in the killings and forced starvation of a besieged Palestinian population in Gaza. ⭕️Our nation’s political and economic interests across the region have also been significantly harmed, while U.S. credibility has been deeply undermined worldwide at a time we need it most, when the world is characterized by a new era of strategic competition. ✊🇵🇸✊ #SupportPalestine #FutureisPalestine #NeverAgainIsNow #stopgenocide #ceasefirenow #savegaza #savegazachildren #breakthesilence #freepalestine #justiceforpalestine #savehumanity #unitemuslims #BDS Step 1: Boycott 2: Divest 3: Sanction #fascistexposed #racistexposed 🚫🇮🇱🚫

The US must think the entire world can be misled on their continuing diplomatic, weapons and billions of dollars support for the Israeli Zionist regime. Almost all heads of international human rights and UN organisations have stated for decades Israel is clearly an apartheid and occupying state, and as set out by South Africa recently at the International Court of Justice This latest “fake” UN resolution misleadingly does not clearly state Israelis disproportionate war crimes must cease permanently and unconditionally, and as an occupying power to allow Gaza food, medical, water and fuel for the 2 million locked into the “largest open air prison in the world”. The Palestinian Gazans need a resolution stating in clear terms for an “immediate and unconditional ceasefire by Israel” from committing war crimes and their ongoing 5 months (!) plausible genocide, “immediate humanitarian aid to be allowed through to Gaza by road” as thousands of trucks have been blocked for 5 months (!) by Israel, and for “independent UN peacekeeping forces to be allowed into Gaza to ensure both are met”. All with reference to the International Court of Justice’s ruling ordering for “all measures” to stop acts of plausible genocide and to ensure humanitarian aid
AJ+ on Instagram: "“In a resolution of 41 paragraphs — 2,036 words — the occupying power [Israel] is mentioned once.” Guyana was the only member of the UN Security Council to abstain from a vote on a failed U.S. resolution for a ceasefire. The resolution was vetoed by China and Russia, with Algeria also voting against. Guyana’s Ambassador to the UN, Carolyn Rodrigues-Birkett, called out th

Middle East latest: 'Outrage' as Italy, France and Spain say Israel violated international law by targeting peacekeepers United Nations peacekeepers play a vital role in maintaining global peace and security. Their work often involves operating in dangerous and complex environments, requiring a degree of protection to ensure their safety and the effective execution of their duties. This protection comes in the form of inviolability and immunity Inviolability refers to the protection of a person from any form of interference with their physical integrity. It means that peacekeepers cannot be arbitrarily arrested, detained, or subjected to any other form of physical harm while on duty. This is essential for ensuring their safety and security in hostile environments ِAyman Salama #Lebanon #Israel #UNIFIL Everyone, regardless of their position or affiliation, should be held accountable for their actions. Violating the immunities of UN peacekeepers is a serious offense, and those who commit such acts must face the consequences.
