The 34. African Cup of Nations just to start today. Expectations are very high with a tournament of great players, 207 are playing in European top 5 leagues. -Morocco is the big favorite to many who made the semi-finals of the 2022 World Cup. But in my opinion, they may not be able to replicate the defensive discipline they showed at the World Cup, it was the reason for their success. I don't think Morocco will play the final. -Cameroon has a good team with players have been playing together for many years and have a target-oriented identity. -Senegal stands out in terms of player quality. -Côte d'Ivoire is one of the biggest favorites because of its quality squad depth and the fact that they are the host. Personally İ don't expect any surprises. -Nigeria shines with the quality of its players but as a coach for me, lacks collective play. -Mali and Burkina Faso have shown promise in previous tournaments. But they do not have the squad depth to succeed in this tournament. Many asked me about the Players to watch, obviously there so many quality top players, the players I will be watching with interest are Serhou Guirassy of Guinea, Fares Chaibi of Algeria, Mohamed Kudus of Ghana, Victor Osimhen of Nigeria and Patson Daka of Zambia. Often the biggest handicap in African football has been the lack of long-term work and the inability to combine the individual talents of the players with a collective understanding of the game. There are teams at this tournament, have overcome these problems. Therefore, I think we will watch a good tournament with a high level of competition. #Caf #football #africanfootball

The Indomitable Lionesses of Cameroon are set to host Nigeria today at the Reunification Stadium for the third round of the 2024 Paris Olympic qualifiers. This crucial match promises to be a classic showdown between two football powerhouses. In a pre-match press conference, I spoke with one of the most experienced players in the Indomitable Lionesses squad, Claudine Falonne Meffometou. I asked her if missing out on the 2024 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations is enough motivation to strive for the Olympics. She responded: "We have to always be motivated when we want to play a game. Besides, it’s an important match, and we’ll be playing at home. Years have gone by, and tomorrow will be another game. I always feel disturbed talking about the same thing concerning the team. We are ready, and tomorrow (today) we will give our best.” Meffometou's response The Indomitable Lionesses face a determined Nigerian side that aims to end their 16-year Olympic drought. Historically, Nigeria has won nine out of the 11 encounters with Cameroon. However, today’s match promises to be fiercely contested. Cameroon’s home advantage may play a crucial role, but Nigeria has won three of their last six meetings with the Lionesses, keeping five clean sheets in the process. I still believe in Cameroons potential and can't wait to see them roar at the reunification stadium. Nigeria and Equatorial Guinea Clash in Africa Cup Group Stage January 14, 2024 Thedailycourierng Nigeria and Equatorial Guinea: The 2023 Africa Cup of Nations continues Saturday with a pivotal Group A match between regional powers Nigeria and Equatorial Guinea. Nigeria are the decorated veterans, having won the tournament three times previously. The Super Eagles squad brims with elite talent, featuring the likes of forward Victor Osimhen and winger Samuel Chukwueze. However, Nigeria is rebuilding under new manager Jose Peseiro and struggled with inconsistency during World Cup qualifying. Equatorial Guinea hopes to challenge Nigeria’s dominance. Though underdogs, they’ve raised their level in recent years with a semifinal run in 2015. Led by captain Emilio Nsue, Equatorial Guinea relies on organizational discipline and set-piece prowess to compete with more gifted opponents. This afternoon’s clash serves as an early group stage barometer. Nigeria wants to quell doubts by flexing its skill and athleticism against a tricky foe. Meanwhile, Equatorial Guinea aims to announce itself as a contender with a signature upset result. In Friday’s opening match, tournament favorites Ivory Coast edged Guinea-Bissau 2-0 behind goals from AC Milan’s Franck Kessie and Arsenal’s Nicholas Pepe. Ivory Coast currently tops the group with 3 points. With invaluable early points at stake, today’s contest in Garoua should feature tense, cagey play. Nigeria and Equatorial Guinea Can Equatorial Guinea’s cohesion frustrate Nigeria’s talent? Or will the Super Eagles prove why they’re perpetual AFCON favorites? “Our greatest glory is not in never falling but in rising every time we fall” ~ Kong Qiu In a thrilling quarter-final match at UEFA Euro 2024, England began to showcase why they are seen as tournament favourites, demonstrating incredible mental resilience. The match against Switzerland ended in a 1-1 draw, leading to a nerve-wracking penalty shootout. Despite a late setback, going a goal down, the team's determination never wavered. If anything, England switched it up a gear. Bukayo Saka stepped up and equalized late in the game, exemplifying his courage and growth as a player. One of the standout moments for me was when Saka stepped up again to take a penalty in the shootout, despite the abhorrent hate he received back in 2020. His successful penalty was not just a personal victory but a symbol of the resilience and spirit of the entire England team. It reminds us all that setbacks are not the end but an opportunity to come back stronger. This victory is particularly inspiring for those of us in the professional world. Just as Saka demonstrated resilience and determination, we too can overcome our challenges and achieve our goals. Whether it's closing a tough sale or delivering a critical presentation, mental resilience is key to success. Congratulations to England for their hard-fought victory and to Bukayo Saka for his inspiring performance. This win is a powerful reminder of the importance of mental resilience in achieving success. What tools or strategies do you use to stay mentally resilient in your professional life? Buzzing for the semis! #Euro2024 #England #MentalResilience #BukayoSaka #Football #Victory #Leadership #Inspiration #Sales #ProfessionalGrowth
