"Now you have more capacity, meaning more trucks, more drivers, chasing less freight. 📰 Reduction in trucking capacity coupled with an increase in orders has logistics executives saying that the long freight recession is finally ending and rates will increase in the back end of the third quarter. The only scary thing is that whatever CBNC or any other mainstream media says business-wise, we mostly see quite the opposite 😁 I hope I'm wrong on this! #TruckingIndustry #Trucking #Transportation #SupplyChain #Drayage #Containerized #Containers #SeaFreight #OceanFreight #Container #Market

The market will eventually correct the oversupply of trucks on the road with falling freight rates, but how long that will take remains in question. In an insightful LinkedIn post I read earlier today, some trucking segments (psst dry van) may have to wait for spring 2025 if things don't turn soon. #trucking #transportation #logistics

“The biggest issue in the market is the overcapacity relative to demand,” Imbro said. “We’re two years into this freight recession; historically you’ve seen capacity get pushed out faster than it has. And so the debate now has become how have small carriers kind of stayed in here, and then what does it take for that capacity to pick up.” #trucking #transportation #logistics

Clear as mud. No one seems to be confident in saying when the freight transport market will take a turn towards higher profits and volume. https://lnkd.in/gbks3d8v -Will a Fed interest rate cut boost demand for LTL and Truckload shipping? Maybe. Are more carriers exiting the market than entering the market? Not yet. Is demand truly awful, or does it simply seem so after the biggest freight boom in history? Probably so. The freight market is still suffering with higher rates of 3rd party logistics companies across the country continuing to have to sell off fleet assets and close shop. The question continues to remain of "when will the market finally be stable again?" with answers still seeming to be no where in sight. "2024 should be a steady year" states VP & GM of freight brokerage and transportation management at Ryder System Inc, Kendra Phillips. “Right now is our year to take a step back, take a deep breath and position ourselves appropriately in the market.” Read more about the current market state below: https://lnkd.in/gybmEfxb
