Exizent's 4th edition of our Bereavement Index has been published. Follow the link below to uncover the insights into why bereavement admin continues to cause unnecessary additional emotional and financial stress and the impact that has. The messages for the organisations that executors deal with are clear. For Legal Services firms - there is work to be done on making the value proposition of professional estate administration clearer for executors. Those who choose to seek professional help are generally happy they did. More people need your support. For Financial Services firms - executors expect you to be easier to deal with and your bereavement journey puts your reputation at stake. Treating everyone who contacts you as potentially vulnerable is a good start. For the Public Sector - modernisation and digitisation of your bereavement services is imperative. Thank you to all those out there that have contributed to the research for this year's Bereavement Index. As many will know the Bereavement Index is an Exizent report aimed at understanding the issues and trends within the processes associated with a person's death in the UK. We have decided to do something slightly different with the Bereavement Index this year. In previous years we published the findings and analysis from all three stakeholder groups, (individuals, legal services professional and financial services), in one document. In 2024 we have chosen to publish findings in 'Chapters'. This will, we hope, allow focus/discussion on the findings in more detail. Today we have published Chapter One - which focuses on the research findings from the individuals that have managed estate administration recently, usually on behalf of a loved one. Some really interesting findings here including on the personal impacts of navigating the process and on the perceived value of using a legal services professional to assist.
