The widespread power outage in the Houston metro area caused by Hurricane Beryl led to significant disruptions in food lifelines in the area! Using Resilitix EmergenCITY, we have been monitoring food lifelines downtime status in near-real-time! Areas with a greater extent of outages show a greater number of food lifelines with "inactive" status (the map shows the downtime status vs. the outage extent the day following the landfall). This data-driven insight is vital for improving relief efforts, including the strategic placement of PODs.
