“As festivities make clear, public spaces in cities have countless benefits: they connect local residents, act as a place to hold community events and offer a place of serenity in a busy urban environment. These areas are vital for preserving the local culture in cities and can bring communities together throughout the year, especially during the holidays.” “By putting people before cars, crowds are able to bring in the New Year together and find a common space in the city to celebrate.” “Regardless of the holiday or the location, these celebrations have one thing in common: they highlight the importance of having public spaces throughout cities. By dedicating more space to residents and visitors, cities encourage their local culture to thrive and create tight-knit communities.” Happy holidays, all. https://lnkd.in/gg_86Neb

With the clocks going back last weekend British Summer Time (BST) and daylight-saving time ended. Although the autumn change is often seen as the "good one" because you get an extra hour in bed (!), the days become shorter, and the nights become longer. Our thoughts turn towards the end of year festivities. However, this is the time of year when we at Parity Trust turn our thoughts to, and focus even more on those within our communities who may be alone, marginalised, and vulnerable. We want to ensure that working with our local authority partners, we can provide the financial support to enable homeowners to stay safe, secure, and particularly at this time of year, warm in their own homes, so that they can enjoy their independence and the festivities and celebrations. The genesis of Parity Trust is to provide the link between our partner local authorities and our residents. We have a mandate to provide good, positive outcomes, and to change lives for the better. We are committed to working with local authorities to help them deliver solutions, whether they are supporting residents with energy efficiency measures, adaptations or essential home improvements Keep up to date with Parity Trust by following our company page. #hampshirechamberofcommerce #newforestbusinesspartnership

Excluding Thanksgiving weekend, more families celebrate reunions at the end of summer than any other time of the year. Warm weather prevails, more outdoor locations and activities are available, and the kids are out of school – all of which makes summertime travel easier for most families. If family is visiting this summer and conversations turn to the possibility of a move that brings them closer, feel comfortable giving my time and expertise to them. Whether it’s weighing the options of a summer and holiday retreat, or exploring the best possibilities for a permanent relocation, I am here to assist. Imagine being able to choose your next neighbor, and it’s someone you already know and love. It could be a sibling, a close friend, or even a favorite cousin. Having someone familiar and valued nearby can make a world of difference, turning everyday moments into cherished memories. If this idea resonates with you, don’t hesitate to reach out. I can provide valuable insights and support to help make this vision a reality.

Do you know what Civic Holiday is and why we celebrate it? Civic Holiday, observed on the first Monday of August, is a unique day celebrated across Canada to foster community spirit and local heritage. While it’s not a statutory holiday everywhere, many Canadians enjoy a day off to engage in various summer activities. Each region in Canada may have different names for this day and ways of celebrating, but the spirit of community and relaxation is universal. The holiday dates back to the mid-1850s. Initially, it was a day for local residents to take a break from work and enjoy recreational activities, a tradition that has continued and evolved over the years. The term “Civic” refers to municipalities, as the holiday is not mandated by the federal government but is observed by many local governments and communities across Canada. Canadians often spend the day picnicking, barbecuing, or enjoying the outdoors with family and friends. Many cities host festivals featuring music, food, tours, and local art displays. Some regions celebrate with parades and fireworks, adding to the festive atmosphere. Civic Holiday is a great opportunity to relax and enjoy the summer, connect with your community, and learn more about the local history and culture of the region you live in. It’s a day to take a break, have fun, and appreciate the diversity and spirit of Canada. So, how did you celebrate #CivicHoliday this year? Share with us! #Risktobeculturallycurious #Neverstoplearning
