This year marked a significant milestone as the AGA-Africa Programme actively engaged in the democratic process, serving as dedicated observers of the Nigerian general election. The AGA-Africa Programme, in collaboration with Books For Africa and the Thomson Reuters Foundation, donated a legal library worth over $40,000 to support the continuous learning and capacity building of the criminal justice sector in Africa. #AGAAfrica2023 #LegalEmpowerment #CollaborativeJustice

In addition to organising and supporting training sessions and workshops on various contemporary topics in law and justice, the AGA-Africa Programme also promotes knowledge exchange through book donations. In 2023, the programme presented legal books to various stakeholders in Kenya, Zambia, Malawi, and Nigeria. In our endeavour to harness the power of sports in addressing Gender-Based Violence (GBV) and promoting gender equality in Africa, the AGA-Africa Programme has collaborated with the Basketball Africa League Africa (BAL) and the National Basketball Association (NBA). #AGAAfrica2023 #LegalEmpowerment #CollaborativeJustice

Through our various regional engagements, the AGA-Africa Programme successfully convened a diverse group of experts to impart knowledge that can bolster the capabilities of African justice actors in combating a range of transnational crimes. Additionally, we supported nine conferences, sponsored one social impact initiative, and facilitated a judicial study tour.
