Disastrousa "At this point, Hollywood's slump looks less like a damp summer and more like a biblical deluge. The studios have been fixated on a handful of high-profile intellectual properties for the past 20 years. When those properties run out of steam, what can they do? The scale of the crisis was disguised by the worldwide success of Barbie and Oppenheimer last summer. But even at the time, it was obvious that the Barbenheimer phenomenon was a blip, rather than a long-term solution to the industry's problems. Here, after all, were two risk-taking projects from distinctive auteurs, given an extraordinary publicity boost from a meme that prompted customers to see both of them, one after the other, while wearing costumes and buying souvenir merchandise. The phenomenon was fun while it lasted, but if it took a set of circumstances as unrepeatable as that to fill cinemas, it couldn't be taken as a positive sign. That's not to say that blockbusters won't keep coming out – every now and then. Executives at Marvel and DC will be hoping that Captain America: Brave New World and Superman: Legacy can beat superhero fatigue when they are released next year. But there is no indication that anyone in Hollywood knows how to put hit films into cinemas on a regular basis any more. The climate has changed. "

Marvel drops Kang actor Jonathan Majors after guilty verdict in assault case I am not qualified to discuss the merits of the case or the verdict. But I am qualified to wonder what the hell Marvel does next. This is just more bad news on top of other bad press on Phase 4 & 5. Now, Marvel has had time to prepare. Avengers 5, previously The Kang Dynasty, already had a new writer come on board, and was already rumored to be getting a new title. However, Majors' character, Kang, was being built up to be the big bad for the next Avengers film. There isn't a lot of time, or room on the coming slate of films, to create the next big bad that would be an Avengers-level threat. Story wise, the MCU now faces the dilemma of a big bad that isn't that threatening, or bringing in a new one that is under-baked (such as Dr. Doom). The easiest option, and one Marvel has done a few times, is to recast. That may be the safest bet for Marvel right now, to try to salvage the multiverse storyline. (and Wakanda Forever showed us the risk of not recasting a main character...) It's not a great place to be for a series that has already been struggling. Now, in the narrative, the end of Loki Season 2 left the ability to wrap up the Kang storyline and move on. But move on to what or whom. That is the open question that I hope Marvel can figure out in a satisfying way. https://lnkd.in/eYmiC7Qr #letsmakeplans #filmindustry #mcu #marvel #disney #intellectualproperty

New Post: ‘Deadpool & Wolverine’ popcorn bucket goes viral: “‘Dune’ popcorn bucket all over again” - https://lnkd.in/gFW4Zih9 - A Deadpool & Wolverine popcorn bucket has gone viral on social media. READ MORE: Is ‘Deadpool & Wolverine 2’ coming out? The newest installment in the Marvel franchise was released last week, and sees Ryan Reynolds’s Wade Wilson team up with Hugh Jackman’s Wolverine. Since its release, fans have been sharing many posts on TikTok with the film’s popcorn bucket tie-in, which features Wolverine’s mouth open in a rather suggestive pose. Many have compared it to the Dune bucket that went viral earlier this year for its similarly suggestive look. @angelckim The Wolverine popcorn bucket is just a small kernel of fun compared to the movie #deadpoolandwolverine @Ryan Reynolds #deadpool #wolverine #deadpool3 #popcornbucket #trending #marvel #ladydeadpool #ryanreynolds #hughjackman #fyp ♬ Like a Prayer – Madonna @brandonbddavis The Deadpool & Wolverine popcorn bucket is real #wolverine #deadpoolandwolverine #mcu #fyp #foryoupage ♬ original sound – Brandon Davis @watchmojo Why the Deadpool & Wolverine popcorn bucket kinda… #cinema #filmtok #mcu ♬ original sound – watchmojo @cnetdotcom 10 pieces of kinda stale #popcorn was eaten for the making of this video #deadpool #wolverine #popcornbucket #amc #deadpoolwolverine #wolverinepopcornbucket #popcornbuckets #deadpool3 ♬ sonido original – 𝐦𝐠𝐫𝐢𝐱𝐨𝐧 “Dune popcorn bucket all over again,” one fan joked, while another said: “We’re gonna have another Dune bucket situation aren’t we.” Reynolds and Jackman opened up about the piece of merch last week on Jimmy Kimmel Live, the Deadpool actor quipping that they “created a very extra special popcorn bucket” “It’s just to enhance your moviegoing experience,” he said. “You remember the Dune popcorn bucket? That could double as your lover. Sexy right? We made a Wolverine bucket for our movie. “What’s crazy is I didn’t realise until just now that people are really gonna fuck this thing!” he went on to joke, before Jackman also poked fun at the piece of merchandise. “For an extra three bucks, AMC will add my testicles onto the neck,” he said. “But it’s summer, there’s a lot of air conditioning, so you may not notice.” The popcorn buckets aren’t the only tie-ins that have gone viral recently, with Xbox releasing controllers with detachable butts themed around the two main characters. Deadpool & Wolverine was released last week, and has already broken the record for the biggest R-rated film opening of all time after taking $205million in North America, surpassing the record of the first Deadpool, and has taken a total of $438.3million globally. The film has also earned the record for

Alfred Hitchcock once said, 'A good movie is all about the script, the script, and the script.' 🎥 In real estate, it's the same—only the script is 'location, location, location.' 🗺️🏙️ Just as a brilliant script transforms a film into a masterpiece, the perfect location can elevate a property from ordinary to extraordinary. Think of proximity to schools, transport, and amenities as the plot twists that keep the audience—your future buyers—on the edge of their seats. So, when you're writing your real estate story, make sure the location is the star of the show. It’s the plotline that can turn your investment into a blockbuster.

First there were sequels, then there were prequels. Later came reboots, spinoffs and live-action remakes. The latest wannabe blockbuster, Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga, just bombed at the box office. Soon, two films will compete over nostalgia baiting as Eddie Murphy reprises his role from Beverly Hills Cop and Michael Keaton returns as the titular poltergeist in Beetlejuice Beetlejuice, both based on movies from the 1980s. As budgets for movies, TV series and even video games balloon into the hundreds of millions of dollars, the entertainment industry has sought to mitigate risk by investing in proven, bankable properties with built-in fandoms like the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Harry Potter, and the Lord of the Rings. bit.ly/3VkZn6Y

“Deadpool & Wolverine” is a love letter to the Fox Marvel movies. But ultimately, “Deadpool and Wolverine” feels very unbalanced. The plot is not strong and most of the new characters are forgettable, but a lot of the usual Deadpool schtick and some unforgettable callbacks to the Fox Marvel universe will be remembered for months and maybe years to come. Lessons from the “Magnificent Seven” Imagine 2023 unfolding like the plot of the classic Western film, The Magnificent Seven. In this cinematic journey, the markets are like the rugged landscapes traversed by The Magnificent Seven, each day akin to a thrilling showdown. As astute investors, we must strategically navigate the markets each day, prepared for whatever “showdown” comes our way. The key is to arm ourselves with knowledge and wisdom to emerge victorious. As we reflect on a year past and consider the one ahead of us, we can’t help but pay homage to the legendary Vice Chairman of Berkshire Hathaway, Charlie Munger, who once said, “Spend each day trying to be a little wiser than you were when you woke up. Discharge your duties faithfully and well, and systematically you get ahead, but not necessarily in fast spurts…And at the end of the day, if you live long enough, most people get what they deserve.” His wisdom and charisma will be missed.
