Today, Ceres proudly celebrates the tenth annual National Hydrogen and Fuel Cell Day. This day highlights the tremendous versatility of hydrogen and fuel cell technologies to reduce carbon emissions, generate domestic energy, and help decarbonise heavy industries, all while driving economic growth and prosperity. Observed on October 8 (10.08), in recognition of hydrogen's atomic weight—1.008—National Hydrogen and Fuel Cell Day underscores hydrogen's role in fuelling sectors across the U.S., from transportation to stationary power and industrial applications. Hydrogen is crucial for enhancing energy security, resilience, and economic strength as we transition to clean energy solutions. At Ceres, we are at the forefront of clean energy innovation. Our solid oxide platform technology leads the way in electrolysis for green hydrogen production and fuel cells for power generation. These solutions support the electrification of energy systems and offer high-efficiency pathways to decarbonise industries that are hardest to abate. Clean energy starts with Ceres. #NationalHydrogenDay #Hydrogen #GreenHydrogen #FuelCells #SOFC #SOEC #SolidOxide #FCHEA #DOE Fuel Cell & Hydrogen Energy Association (FCHEA) U.S. Department of Energy (DOE)

Our latest news item by Prof Paul Dodds shares insights into the documents released in December 2023 termed the UK Hydrogen Moment. HI-ACT is contributing novel research to provide a foundation for hydrogen energy systems. Through examining what we can learn from the village trials and considering hydrogen infrastructure needs, hydrogen models, markets and regulatory challenges over the next decade. While government support is very welcome, it’s important that we build on this support by investing in the next generation of hydrogen technologies that will be on the market in the 2030s and 2040s and how these will be integrated. It has been announced that HDF Energy will be receiving an estimated $183m, which is being given to the company in order to support the development and industrialization of hydrogen fuel cells. These fuel cells are currently under development at the company’s Blanquefort plant, based in France. The plan for this site is for it to include a high-power fuel cell test platform, which will be a large benefit to the company’s industrial partners and also to European research centres. The article below talks about the recent decision which was made around funding fuel cell development. The choice to proceed with the funding will be greatly beneficial to both the company and to the hydrogen technology industry.
