This guy was making $50k/day at 19. Today, he's worth over $100M.
Here's how he did it. 👇
At 18, Ankur Nagpal was bored during his summer internship at Amazon.
He felt like a cog in a machine, working on a tiny piece of code that barely mattered.
But that summer, Facebook launched its app platform—and it changed everything.
Ankur started experimenting with building apps: games, personality quizzes, fun little tools that spread like wildfire.
By 19, his apps were making $50,000/day!
But there was a problem.
Everything depended on Facebook.
When the platform’s algorithm changed—his revenue dropped overnight.
After years of instability, Ankur decided to walk away and seek a new idea.
For two years, he tried idea after idea, and almost all of them failed.
Then, in 2013, he noticed something...
Platforms like Udemy were exploding, but creators were stuck—they couldn’t control their audiences or pricing.
That’s when he started Teachable.
At first, it was a small tool to let creators host courses on their own websites.
But it soon became a full-fledged platform that enabled creators to earn from their knowledge.
The first year, they stalled at just $10k/month.
Just 12 months later, Teachable 16x’d revenue—from $10K to $160K/month.
Steal their framework 👇
It's called the Every Dollar Model.
Each month, the team set a growth target.
It started small - to grow 30% the next month.
Then, Ankur worked backward.
Step 1: Account for known revenue sources.
They calculated how much would come from organic upgrades, weekly webinars, and enterprise sales.
Step 2: Identify the gap.
The missing revenue—$2,843 that month—became their RTBF: Revenue To Be Found.
Step 3: Innovate to close the gap.
For August, they ran partner promotions and tested new strategies to hit their RTBF.
It worked.
Every month, this process forced the team to find creative ways to grow.
By November 2015, they invented a new strategy...
Hosting a virtual summit.
They got 15+ partners to drive traffic to a single event.
At the end of the summit, they made a one-time offer to upgrade to Teachable.
The result? $25K in new monthly recurring revenue.
By the end of the year, they were at $160K/month.
The momentum didn't stop.
And in 2020, that discipline led to a $250M acquisition deal.
Today, Ankur is the founder of Carry helping founders save tens of thousands a year on taxes.
In my interview with him, he reveals the full playbook.

Last year we grew 69.37% over summer break
Ended May 2023 at $84,217 MRR
Started Sept 2023 at $142,655 MRR
Looks like we will end this month around $505K MRR, so if we can have a similar growth rate we could hit $855K MRR
Tactics we used last year will likely still work, but need to cook up some new ones as well
Last year, we did the basics of pivoting all of our marketing to countries that didn't have summer break May-September, focusing less on organic content, and trying to minimize summer churn as much as we could with specials, pauses, and promotions
This year, I have some more ambitious plays in mind, tbd if they will move the needle or not
We will shoot for the insane 69% growth again, but even half of that growth would be okay since we're a much larger startup this time around
The good news is that once you survive summer, there is always a huge uptick of growth when it's back to school, particularly in October-November
Slowly getting used to the seasonality of EdTech
It's still quite stressful but it's much nicer knowing exactly what to expect this time around!

24 Year Old Founder of Trendwatchers.co & Planmyweekend.ai / YouTuber (70k) / TEDx Speaker / Contributor at Entrepreneur Magazine / Author / Over 100M People Reached Online
My 30 Day Progress Report of 2025 (Massive Wins) 👇
We’ve been in 2025 for a month. As a way to hold myself accountable, here are my MAJOR wins of the year so far 👀.
🥳 Win #1) Grew my organic search traffic for Planmyweekend.ai by over 1,000% and installed pop ups/banners to effectively convert this traffic.
My best traffic sources were
- Bing
- Google
- DuckDuckGo
- ChatGPT
- Safari
- Yahoo
🥳 Win #2) Got my first FRONTEND sale for Planmyweekend Magazine.
I’ve been running Planmyweekend.ai with my personal finances for the past 6 months.
I was aware of the heavy upfront costs, but it’s cool to start seeing the returns slowly come in.
🥳 Win #3) Created over 1,200 local city travel guides (For the United States) that will generate free traffic from Google for years.
This wasn’t easy. I wake up at 5am every morning to do this for 3 hours. But I know that this work will pay off and bring customers daily for 10+ years.
🥳 Win #4) Reduced my travel expenses for both local, domestic & international by 30 to 100% through Planmyweekend.ai.
Hotels, restaurants, attractions love the media so they’ll always give me free passes (in exchange for a review), OR a significant media discount.
🥳 Win #5) Reworked the main algorithm for Planmyweekend.ai.
This is the most frustrating & time consuming part of this website but it’s almost there. 👀
🥳 Win #6) Created an internship program to start having content created on all socials & go viral.
This will be my focus for Q2. Q1 focus is mastering product quality and planting SEO seeds.
🥳 Win #7) Purchased planmyweekendmagazine.com and started building link juice to it
In the future, I’m going to split off Planmyweekend.AI and the Magazine so they are on two seperate domains.
Final thoughts: This is the tip of the iceberg on what was accomplished in my life in the past 30 days.
Don’t get left behind, take action now.

User growth stuck despite pushing harder than ever?
You’ve raised, onboarded users, but now stalling.
The problem?
Throwing more resources at the same strategy.
Scaling in Web3 isn’t about working harder.
A company that’s walking won’t beat the competition that’s already on a bike.
The winners I see do this:
They innovate their user acquisition strategies,
finding the right mix of organic and paid growth
They question how users interact and engage,
making the user journey seamless.
They turn challenges into opportunities
Constantly iterating based on real-time user feedback.
When was the last time you innovated your growth strategy?
P.s I'm running a private virtual roundtable for founders next month to discuss user onboarding and growth, if you want in DM me
