National Safety Day, celebrated annually on March 4th in India, has a rich history rooted in awareness and accident prevention. Let’s delve into its origins and evolution: 1966: Setting the Stage Recognizing the increasing number of accidents and injuries across various sectors, the Ministry of Labour and Employment, Government of India, established the National Safety Council (NSC) in 1966. This autonomous body aimed to promote safety consciousness and develop safe working conditions in industries and workplaces. 1972: The First National Safety Day In 1972, the NSC commemorated its foundation day by establishing the first National Safety Day. This marked a significant step in highlighting the importance of safety and advocating for preventive measures. Evolving Themes Throughout the years, National Safety Day has adopted themes focusing on specific areas of concern, such as: 1997: “Safety and Education for Sustainable Development” 2004: “Women in Safety” 2018: “Safety and Health at Work: A Strategic Investment for Sustainable Development” 2023: “Occupational Safety and Health: A fundamental right to a safe and healthy work environment” The theme for National Safety Day 2024 is “Focus on Safety Leadership for ESG Excellence.” The objective of the NSD Campaign is to help industries and other organizations to promote Safety, Health, and Environment. Safety Leadership plays a significant role in ESG excellence. #Safety #safetyweek #safetyculture #53rdNationalSafetyweek. #ElectropneumaticsandHydraulicsIndiaPvtLtd

With 2024 just around the corner, it’s delightful to view some tremendous progress in the #industrialsafety segment. Reflecting on Aarika Innovations Private Limited inception, I remember an experience that both haunts and stimulates me to enhance #workplacesafety - On average 3 workers die every day in Indian factories and witnessing the same first-hand shook me to the core. A factory worker was suffocated for hours which culminated in a heart attack, hospitalising the only breadwinner of the family. Leaving a mark that can’t be washed away, I was more than devoted to revolutionising Industrial Safety. In tandem, we launched Smart Safety Badge (SSB), an innovation designed for factory workers. Equipped with proximity and fall detection, and heart rate monitoring, it constantly tracks the fall, SPO2 and heart rate of employees, sending immediate alerts to the supervisor. We’ve been successful in saving the lives of workers, granting me the pleasure of ensuring preventative health hazards for employees. Share it with your connections if you agree that employees are the lifeblood of any industry and it is our duty to ensure that they receive the utmost safety. #workforcesafety #workplacesafety #industrialsafety #smartmanufacturing #safetyculture #workersafety
