At Olmanyara tilil,as part of our afforestation activities, we go beyond just tree planting; there is a need to ensure that trees planted are taken care of and communities are engaged and educated. In partnership with local groups, we have set up a total of ten tree nurseries that cover four wards within Kieni East. These nurseries offer a steady supply of commercially important and indigenous trees that are suitable within the area. By involving the community in management of the nurseries, we are giving them ownership of their local environment. One of our strategies is increasing awareness and educating the community about the objective of managed replanting and the need to conserve forests, the long term benefits of which are immense. This makes it sure that tree planting is not an isolated one time effort but an ongoing commitment to regeneration of deforested land. Further, our programs have also created improved economic activities for the local people. We are looking to partner with other organizations to further our projects within the community. #grants #impactfulprojects #support #nonprofit

In Manchester one in 74 people are currently experiencing homelessness. 🏘️ A local charity Embassy aims to combat this issue and make use of Manchester’s historic rail infrastructure. They are currently embarking on the construction of Embassy Village: 40 high-quality homes, along with a village hall and spaces for exercise, gardening and socialising, under railway arches.
