Amyrin isomers are triterpenoids found in most fruit and leaf cuticles. There have been recent studies that suggest β-amyrin exhibits long-lasting anti-inflammatory properties and is a potential molecule in pain relief through the activation of cannabinoid receptors. However, when separating the isomers amyrin shows insufficient visibility in the UV/Vis range due to its chemical structure. Here we share a method for separating these α and β isomers, using SFC coupled with Evaporative Light Scattering Detection (ELSD). #Chromatography #SFC #ELSD
