Happy International Women's Day (IWD) 2024. As shared below, today is IWD and as per the United Nation's Women this year's theme is "Count Her In: Invest in Women, Accelerate Progress." This these is truly meaningful to many women who are working in mining and any other male dominated industries across the globe. This year, the International Women's Day organization also chose the theme of "Inspire Inclusion" as it plays a critical role in enabling progress in our workplace for both men and women. There are too many experiences and stories we share where we have been clearly (and sometimes intentionally) been excluded... excluded from the opportunity to advance our careers, excluded from team social events, excluded from important discussions, excluded from the opportunity to provide input to key decision that impact many etc. At AngloGold, we are committed to ensuring inclusive workplace culture where everyone feels safe, belongs, and is treated fairly. It is our duty as leaders, and employees and members of society to make this progressive change.

We are going to learn so much today as we remember, discover, honour and celebrate women and their achievements to society. The day also marks a call to action for accelerating gender parity. Did you know the windshield wipers from cars was invented by a woman? How incredible is that? The campaign theme for International Women's Day 2024 is Inspire Inclusion. When we inspire others to understand and value women's inclusion, we forge a better world. And when women themselves are inspired to be included, there's a sense of belonging, relevance, and empowerment. Collectively, let's forge a more inclusive world for women. Today is International Women’s Day and the theme adopted by United Nation’s Women this year is “Count Her In: Invest in Women, Accelerate Progress. Additionally, the International Women’s Day organization this year also chose the theme #InspireInclusion, emphasizing the critical role inclusion plays toward making accelerated progress towards gender equity.   We are proud of the progress AngloGold Ashanti continues to make to address inclusion, diversity, and equity. Our strong emphasis on gender equity is to ensure that we reflect the communities in which we operate and our goal for workplaces free of inequity. This is just the right thing to do and we are committed to continue to deliver the various initiatives that supports our women at AGA and makes it safe for everyone.   These initiatives include our comprehensive Inclusion, Diversity and Equity strategy, providing appropriate facilities, personal protective equipment (PPE), raising awareness and education on unconscious bias and inclusive leadership skills. We are also improving representation and sponsorship of diverse talent and creating inclusive experiences while ensuring our business and people systems are equitable for all.
