That’s why our teams are dedicated to working across the country, helping farmers increase their agricultural production and access larger markets. Scovia Atizuru, who once struggled to make ends meet, now makes a steady profit by selling her produce at her market. Hand-in-hand with our community partners, sponsors, volunteers and you, 2024 was our MOST IMPACTFUL year yet! We reached 152,911 people through wells, rainwater harvesters, water filters, safe toilets, and education on hygiene and menstrual health. A few highlights from the year included: 1️⃣ Expanding our programs with our Indonesian partner @ylrasumba to include training on critical hygiene practices including handwashing. 2️⃣ Growing our work in Uganda with our long-time partner POPOW, with expansion into Amolatar District, home to 145,000 people 3️⃣ Working with our Haitian partner ASSLHA to build community rainwater harvesting systems in villages that had no other safe water source. As we step into 2025, with women leading the way, we remain committed to building long-term, holistic solutions hand in hand with the communities we serve!

🔥 🤝 Cocoa farmers in Ghana unite for a stronger voice: Welcome the newly-formed Ghana Cooperative Cocoa Farmers and Marketing Association Ltd. (World Cocoa Farmers Organization). Well-run cooperatives & associations are one of the best ways to increase representation and services to farmers. In Ghana, over 70 cooperative unions have come together to form a new association that will give cocoa farmers a new advocacy platform in the cocoa sector. This association will push for: • Stable and fair prices • Improved government support and services • Secure land rights • Living incomes for all cocoa producers Solidaridad West Africa helped establish the association through the #RECLAIMSustainability! programme, in collaboration with Ghana’s Department of Cooperatives, TrustAfrica and Agriterra. The NGO World Foundation and Alkhidmat Foundation Pakistan (AKIM) formally signed an MoU to collaborate on a Cattle Project aimed at rural development. Nuru Ethiopia has been working since 2021 with Esipe Dicha, a farmers' union that serves 62 cooperatives whose memberships total more than 10,000 farmers. By bringing smaller primary farmer cooperatives together, farmers' unions like Esipe Dicha provide cooperatives with greater bargaining opportunities as a collective, supporting improved access to quality and affordable inputs. Nguna Island in Vanuatu was a flurry of activity during a visit by USAID Country Representative Nino Nadiradze to see firsthand what Live & Learn International Vanuatu was doing to improve Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH) on-island. Ms. Nadiradze visited Tava Primary School where she had the unique experience of dancing alongside the children to their powerful WASH advocacy song. Through a US$1.5M grant from USAID Pacific American Fund, 11,000+ children across Kiribati, Tuvalu, Tonga, and Vanuatu are benefiting from stronger, more resilient WASH systems. In Vanuatu alone, 17 schools, 5 healthcare centers, and 30 communities are seeing the direct impact of this initiative, improving health and quality of life in these communities.

For instance, Development Dynamics recently had the pleasure to facilitate an intensive user-centered, systems-focused, futures-lensed review and writing process with the Resource Development Working Group of Food for the Hungry, Inc. Kenya whose aim is to end all forms of human poverty by providing life-changing development programs, disaster relief, and advocacy. We provided skillful, thoughtful and future-proof facilitation that pushed our client, challenged their assumptions and pushed them to design the best solutions for the people they serve.
