COLLABORATION FOR IMPACT: PARTNERING IN AGRIBUSINESS A wise man once said, " Unity is strength...when there is teamwork and collaboration, wonderful things can be achieved." I remember an experience I had with teamwork and partnership in my second year in university. We took a particular course titled agricultural entrepreneurship, and did a project on producing agricultural finished produce. Each team was to work together and mine produced ponmo. Only few people have knowledge about how to do the ponmo, a market to buy the animal skin from, and the pricing manner. These people were at the forefront of the project, while the rest gave needed support in areas like the packaging, marketing, taking records, and others. The project went smoothly due to the team work, infact our lecturer really commended us for doing a good job. We later got to know after the project that some markets sell the bad animal skin. They would easily deceive customers into buying, except if the buyer knows well what he/ she wants. I could only imagine what would have happened if some of us did not have idea about the purchase of the animal skin. Perhaps, our project would have turned out the other way round. The roles and benefits partnering and collaboration in agribusiness cannot be overemphasized. They go a long way in contributing to the sustainability of the business. Have you had any experience with partnering in agribusiness? Share in the comments section. #MentorshipAcceleratorProgramWithFFFH #FutureForwardFarmersHub

Your agri-tech entrepreneurship is just five steps away! Are you curious about entering the agri-tech arena and finding innovative farming solutions? Here’s what I did: 👉🏽 Before diving in, look closely at the real issues farmers face. Whether it’s crop monitoring, yield improvement, or cost control, understanding these first helps you target real needs, not imagined ones. 👉🏽 Begin with small-scale solutions that are easy for farmers to try. Focused implementation lets you refine the tech based on real usage, building a solid foundation for broader adoption. 👉🏽 Involve farmers early and let them interact with your product. Their input enhances the product and makes them part of your journey, turning them into your best advocates. 👉🏽 Once you have proven results, share them directly with farmers. Letting them see real benefits firsthand helps secure their trust and, ultimately, their loyalty. 👉🏽 Promote sustainable practices as core to your mission. When farmers see the long-term benefits to their land and livelihood, they’re more likely to embrace your tech and spread the word to others. Good luck! #RishiVasanthakumar #KovaiClassicIndistries #KCI #Syfero

Sharing a new resource: the "Ag Playbook" — a framework aimed at helping startups, investors, and agtech companies bring innovative solutions to market more effectively. 🔹 Created by experts from companies like Bayer, Oerth Bio, Enko® Chem, and Cleveland Avenue Ventures, the #playbook addresses a key issue in the agtech world: the lack of a shared understanding of the product development process. Key takeaways include: 🔸 Agtech startups face long, costly paths to market. It can take 4-13 years and $50-$400M to launch a product. 🔸 Small molecule crop protection products have seen development costs rise 99% over the past 15 years. 🔸 Without partnerships with agricultural companies, scaling to millions of acres can be prohibitively expensive. 🔸An important point: "If you build it, the market won’t necessarily come." Startups must collaborate with partners, test rigorously, and understand the complex agricultural systems they’re entering. With lessons drawn from industries like #pharma, this playbook sets a much-needed baseline for agtech innovation, ensuring both startups and investors are better equipped to navigate the complexities of agriculture. #AgTech #Agriculture #Innovation #Startups #VentureCapital #Sustainability

CORNCOB, Inc. maker of an advanced membrane water filtration system, is a graduate of our BREW 2.0 Post-Accelerator. Like many startups, it has seen its share of challenges, but owner Douglas Hwang is optimistic about its future. Corncob is currently working, appropriately enough, with a California company to clean the wastewater created as a part of the process to remove the pericarp, or outer skin, of a corn kernel.
