The Pampanga State Agricultural University (PSAU), through the Office of Innovation (OOI) forged agreements with agri-tech platform MAYANI and the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) through a partnership ceremony held at the University Food Center's VIP Room. The dual partnerships are steps forward in PSAU's mission to strengthen agricultural development in the region. MAYANI, represented by co-founders Mr. JT Solis and Mr. Ochie San Juan, brought to the table its full-stack agri-technology platform that earned recognition for connecting smallholder farmers and fisherfolk with broader market opportunities. The platform has been instrumental in eliminating traditional market barriers that have long challenged agricultural producers. In a parallel development, the DTI's regional office, through its provincial office, represented by Mr. Emil Paolo Galang, Senior Trade and Industry Specialist, committed to establishing a Fabrication Laboratory (FabLab) at PSAU. This initiative promises to enhance the university's technological capabilities and research infrastructure. "As an educational institution, we work hard to put the industry within the university for us to contribute to the development of the nation," said Dr. Anita David, PSAU President, which highlighted the agreements' potential impact and commitment on agricultural production, research, and training in the region. Following the signing ceremony, representatives from the OOI led by Dir. Walter Pacunana and MAYANI conducted a field demonstration of innovative aquaculture technology at the REACH Integrated Farm. As an agronomist and founder of Abuti Spinach, I'm excited to share my thoughts on the latest advancements in agriculture. Recently, I've been reflecting on the importance of innovation in our industry, and I believe that cultivation is taking center stage. With the help of biotechnology, we're seeing significant improvements in crop yields, disease resistance, and water conservation. But what I find most fascinating is how these innovations are empowering small-scale farmers in Africa to increase their productivity and competitiveness. The question is, how can we ensure that these advancements are accessible to all farmers, regardless of their size or resources? I believe that collaboration between industry peers, governments, and farmers is key to driving adoption and making a meaningful impact. By working together, we can create a more sustainable and equitable food system that benefits everyone. As someone who's passionate about empowering small-scale farmers, I'm committed to exploring these innovations and sharing my knowledge with others. What are your thoughts on the future of agriculture and the role of biotechnology? #abutispinach #Agvocate #AgroDiplomacy 💡🌾📈[Collection]
