🌱 Glad to be part of this event where I joined Andy Hall for overseas work in Vietnam as part of the #Aus4Innovation program! We had the chance to exchange valuable insights based on case studies from Australia and Vietnam. I have shared some lessons we learned from the #PestREADI project on how to better understand the gaps in Agri-Innovation Systems through a rapid diagnostic study to help inform the co-design of an information-sharing platform to promote area-wide IPM. Lot of learning from other case studies presented on how they are addressing sustainability challenges through institutional innovation by reorganising networks of actors through farmers’ clubs and similar innovation platforms and how digital tools are helping them exchange information. Often context-specific innovative strategies to deal with similar and complex challenges we are facing in both countries. Identifying what works and elevating these findings to the policy level can be a powerful tool for building resilient, sustainable agricultural innovation systems. https://lnkd.in/dDjhFBak

🌱 Puerto Rico's Department of Economic Development and Commerce (DDEC) is paving the way for agricultural advancement by granting the University of Puerto Rico, Mayagüez (RUM), a significant $1 million incentive. This funding will boost the Center for Agro-industrial Innovation and Technology (CITAI), fostering research, development, and modernization in agriculture. The initiative aims to enhance the agricultural ecosystem and value-added food chain, empowering local and international markets. 🌎 The investment will transform CITAI's governance model for self-sustainability, purchase modern equipment, and expand facilities. The UK Agri-Tech Centre is delighted to announce the formal signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with AgriTech New Zealand, which will help support bi-directional pathways for innovators between New Zealand and the UK in the agricultural industry 🤝 At its core, the MOU is a voluntary agreement that sets the stage for joint efforts to tackle global agricultural challenges. Through this framework, we aim to drive collaboration on events, initiatives and research, such as webinars, conferences and coordinated farm trials that make the most of our counter-seasonal advantages. The UK and New Zealand enjoy a strong, long-standing relationship, with both nations prioritising innovation and sustainability in agriculture. We're proud to be part of the exciting innovations happening in 𝗖𝗮𝗻𝗮𝗱𝗮 to extend the growing season for #berries through the Homegrown Innovation Challenge! 🍓🍇 Last week, 11 first round winners met in Toronto to share progress on their projects, ranging from cutting-edge greenhouse systems to advanced controlled environment agriculture (CEA) solutions. Vivent #Biosignals is actively involved in two projects, in collaboration with Kwantlen Polytechnic University and Toronto Metropolitan University. Our technology plays a key role in providing real-time insights into how plants respond to different growing recipes and environments, helping fine-tune production methods for better results. As we move forward, we're excited about the formation of a berry research network to accelerate the sector’s progress. Without the support from the Weston Family Foundation this network would not have germinated.
