Moving from a job title-focused approach to a skills-focused approach will transform your organization. But it’s overwhelming and complicated, so here’s where we start: We recommended starting with a test area in the business where making this move will bring a disproportionate positive outcome. We have a model that combines assessing the highest influence on the organizational performance AND highest gravity within the organizational context aligned to your organizational strategy and we start there. We then deconstruct roles into work outcomes and tasks and then into the skills needed. Using our human potential model (skills, motivations, and aspirations) we are able to create a decoder between the two and put these into a frame (work - outcomes and tasks and skills) mapped to talent (skills, potential, and aspirations). Once we have this model (an evolved version of skills frameworks and job architecture), we can then feed this data into technology (of which there are many options on the market).

I keep asking our Talent Acquisition and Talent Management team what they think would attract someone to our organization in the first place and what would make them stay on after that. Over several such sessions, they have refined their analysis and here’s what has emerged. First, we have a lot of work to offer in really exciting spaces. We do a lot of projects linked to enterprise automation, AI, GenAI, Data& Analytics and computer vision. Many of these are driven by our partnership with global leader Automation Anywhere and our partnership with innovators like Snowflake. Clearly, people want to work in these areas today. As candidates interact with us, they also realise that we are a very open organization with a flat hierarchy that makes everyone from the engineering experts to the leaders very accessible. Over conversations with our existing teammates, prospective teammates often get to understand just how much we are committed to the ongoing well-being and happiness of our team. They see how we encourage and support people to upskill and allow them to showcase those skills in real-world scenarios. Of course, we offer extremely competitive pay packages. We also have a range of benefits, including provisions for fitness and mental well-being. However, beyond that, I hope that we have been successful in empowering our teammates to become the best versions of themselves when they work with us.
