This International Women's Day, I want to take a moment to recognize the immense value and power of women's voices in every sector, from business and technology to tourism and government. Today is a celebration of the progress we've made towards gender equality, but it's also a reminder of the journey ahead and the work still to be done. For me, the importance of having a voice and being "loud" cannot be overstated. In the professional world, where decisions are made and directions are set, our voices are essential. They shape the future, influence policy, and create a more inclusive and equitable workplace for everyone. Being loud—figuratively speaking—is about being fearless in expressing our opinions, sharing our ideas, and advocating for change. It's about not just occupying space, but actively contributing to the conversations that matter. Our voices can challenge the status quo, push for innovation, and drive progress. They can mentor, guide, and inspire the next generation of women leaders. Its how we make sure our contributions are recognized, our achievements celebrated, and our challenges addressed. Let us all commit to using our voices more intentionally, not just today, but every day. Let's mentor, sponsor, and lift each other up. Let's advocate for policies that promote gender equality and inclusivity. And most importantly, let's ensure that every woman feels empowered to speak her truth and make it heard—even if we need to do it loudly. In 2024, International Women’s Day takes on a dual theme: “Inspire Inclusion” and “Invest in Women: Accelerate Progress.” Though seemingly distinct, both themes converge on the same aspiration. "Inspire Inclusion" emphasises the imperative of fostering a society where everyone, irrespective of gender, feels esteemed, valued, and empowered.
