In today's "always on" work culture, it's easy to feel guilty about taking time off. Despite company policies encouraging downtime, many employees still struggle to disconnect from work. But taking time for ourselves and our loved ones is just as important as being productive at work. Research shows that disconnecting after work hours can increase job satisfaction, reduce burnout, and improve work-life balance. So, why do so many people still find it hard to unplug? It could be due to the constant buzz of work notifications on our phones and laptops. In an "always on" world, it's easy to feel pressure to be available 24/7. But let's remember the lessons we learned during COVID. We need to prioritize our mental health and well-being. So let's encourage each other to take uninterrupted time for hobbies and relationships, and to silence work notifications when we need to. By unplugging and recharging, we can all work towards a healthier and more fulfilling work-life balance. #worklifebalance #mentalhealth #unplug #talkwithfaizal #ahamedfaizal #projectmanager #projectmanagement #careerconnect

The idea in the first place that work and life are separate is increasingly foreign to me as I finish my third year of owning a business. If I'm living for my own purpose and working for my own purpose, the lines aren't so much blurred as they are all about the same thing: purpose. If I ever decide to go back to being a CISO, I sincerely hope that I can bring the same sense to that role. #ciso #purpose #worklifeharmony #valuesalignment

Work-life balance has been dying since the 1980s. Some notable 'deaths' include: - 9-to-5 workdays - Weekends free from work - Vacations without emails - Family dinners without phones - Hobbies not for side hustles - Clear boundaries between work and home And now 'always-on' remote work culture Here's the reality: - 72% feel burnout at least once - 1 in 3 work on vacation to 'catch up' - Average workweek is now 47 hours, not 40 - Stress-related ailments cost $300 billion yearly - 57% check work messages outside office hours - "Work-life integration" replacing "work-life balance" Our Mental health directly impacts work performance. Block out the pressure to always be 'on'. Prioritize downtime, set boundaries, and invest in your mental fitness. Work-life balance only 'dies' if we let it.
