🍽️ Order a parma, support a farmer! 🌾 Long-term AHA (Vic) members, ALH Hotels Group, have launched the "Parma for a Farmer" campaign, turning one of Australia's favourite pub meals into a force for good! Throughout February, ALH Hotels across the country will donate $1 from every parmigiana sold to Rural Aid, helping farmers facing drought, floods, and natural disasters. With over 350 pubs nationwide, this initiative will make a real impact on rural communities in need. So next time you visit your local ALH venue, order a parma and know you're making a difference! A huge shout-out to ALH Group for their ongoing commitment to supporting both their local communities and those doing it tough in the regions. https://lnkd.in/dNZuYncC #ParmaForAFarmer #ALHHotels #SupportOurFarmers

🌍💧 Together, We Can Bring Clean Water to Fahiria 💧🌍 Right now, in the village of Fahiria, Timor-Leste, families like Evalina’s are struggling to access clean water. The dry season means the taps have run dry, forcing Evalina to trek uphill for hours, only to find dirty, muddy puddles that aren't safe to drink. 💔 The current water system is unreliable and broken. Sediment clogs the intake, debris blocks the flow, and only half the taps in the village work. 💔 Families are left making impossible choices: cook, clean, or drink? Evalina worries about her baby’s health every time she has to use unsafe water. Her elderly parents can’t fetch water for themselves. No one should live like this. We can change this. Engineers Without Borders Australia is raising $55,000 to rebuild the water system in Fahiria, delivering clean, safe, reliable water year-round. ✨ Your donation today can: ✅ Ensure clean, safe water reaches every tap. ✅ Save women and girls from the daily trek for water. ✅ Give families like Evalina’s a healthier, more secure future. 💦 Every drop counts. Will you help bring water to Fahiria? The fires scorched everything, leaving barren fields. The devastation is total. The ranchers are left waiting for the first rains and the first signs of new growth, but until then, they need immediate support. That’s where you come in. Your donation isn’t just money—it’s hope. It’s the hay that feeds the animals until the first rains bring new life. It's the provision of pipes that funnel water for drinking and the feed that sustains the animals. Your support helps these ranchers hold on through the darkest times. We’ve already seen the impact—19 bales of hay delivered to farms in need. But there’s still more work to do. Act now. As an organiser for Fridays For Future Kenya the last few days have been difficult - just a few days ago, we were organising the #GlobalClimateStrike in different parts of Kenya asking our leaders for concrete action on the climate crisis and here we are today - I have been receiving messages and calls from fellow activists, most of them part of communities living in informal settlements stating how the floods have affected them. Death, destruction, missing friends and family members is what the communities are currently dealing with. Over 120 people have died and more than 132,000 people affected in Kenya, alone, with an estimated 400,000 affected in East Africa. And yet, in spite of this, the rescue and relief efforts continue - if you're looking to support victims of flooding, below are youth grassroots groups that are working on rescue and food relief work.

🌊 A Cry for Help: Rebuild Lives Shattered by the Floods 🌊 The recent floods in Bangladesh have done more than just submerge homes and fields; they have washed away dreams, hopes, and the very foundation on which thousands of families built their lives. Now, as the water recedes, the true extent of the devastation is becoming heartbreakingly clear. Imagine losing everything in a single moment—your home, your savings, the livestock that fed your family, and the small business that sustained you. This is the grim reality for so many right now. Entire communities are left standing on the rubble of what was once their world, with nothing but the will to survive. In these desperate times, the Ex Cadets’ Forum (ECF) has stepped forward with a mission to not just offer temporary relief but to help these families rebuild their lives from the ground up. I am proud to be associated with ECF, a group that has consistently proven its dedication, transparency, and unwavering commitment to helping those in need. But we cannot do this alone. We need you. 🔹 What We Are Striving to Do: Rebuild Homes: Give families a safe place to call home again. Restore Livelihoods: Help them restart the small businesses that are their only means of survival. Provide Essential Supplies: Ensure they have food, clean water, and basic necessities. Support Agriculture and Livestock: Restore the backbone of their economic stability. Rebuild Community Centers: Restore spaces where communities can come together and heal. 🔹 How You Can Make a Difference: Donate: Please, if you can, contribute whatever you can spare. The payment details are in the flyer below. Share: Spread this message in your circles—among family, friends, colleagues. When you share, a few heartfelt words about ECF and our cause can inspire others to open their hearts and wallets. This is not just a request for donations—it’s a plea for solidarity. These families need more than just money; they need to know they are not forgotten. They need to know that even in their darkest hour, they are not alone. Please, let’s come together to turn their despair into hope. Every contribution, no matter how small, will light the way for someone trying to find their path forward. #RebuildLives #FloodRelief #StandWithBangladesh #Supporthumanity #floodrehabilitation

Farmers are battling drought-like conditions across areas of South Australia that are threatening the future of their farms. That’s why we’re standing with @RuralAid through the Buy a Bale campaign. Severe rain deficiencies have left the land parched, and the lack of rainfall is pushing farmers and their livestock to their limits. What may be worse, is that farmers feel they are unseen and unheard. Left to fight their struggles on their own. Every dollar you donate helps deliver hay, resources, and hope to farmers when they need it most. Together, we can make a real difference and show our farmers they’re not alone. Donate today: https://bit.ly/4gf4FZk Let’s keep our farmers strong. #RuralAid #BuyABale #GivingBack

Thank you to the National Rural Health Alliance for sharing this important message. Some farmers across Australia, including parts of South Australia and Victoria, are facing immense challenges, such as drought and limited access to clean water. Rural Aid is committed to addressing this need by providing some farmers with free water tanks. These tanks allow farmers to collect and store essential rainwater, a vital resource during difficult times. Over the years, Rural Aid has delivered millions of litres of domestic water to farmers. The impact has been significant: 97% of recipients report improved access to quality water. 97% feel better equipped to handle future disasters and water shortages. One farmer shared: "The water tank was a great boost, not only in a practical way by having water to drink, wash, and shower, but from a mental state. It gave us a great uplifting boost, knowing that great people were helping us recover from the biggest disaster our area has ever seen. Thank you all." If you’d like to support our mission, know a farmer who could benefit from our services, or partner with us, we’d love to hear from you. Rural Aid is here to provide a helping hand whenever it’s needed—whether through practical support or a simple conversation. Remember: ‘One conversation at the right time with the right person can change everything. 💧 Farmers across rural and regional Australia are battling drought and desperately need access to fresh drinking water. Our member, Rural Aid, is stepping up to provide free water tanks to farmers in need through their incredible initiative. The Impact: -Over 250 farmers applied in the latest round, highlighting the urgent demand for this essential resource. - Rural Aid has already delivered 500+ water tanks, including a milestone 500th tank to a family in Gilgandra, NSW, in December 2024. However, the need far outweighs supply. Rural Aid can only fulfil 90 tank requests this round and is calling on generous Australians to help bridge the gap. Every donation helps ensure more families have the security of clean water. Your support could make all the difference. Donate today and help provide this life-saving resource to families who need it most: www.ruralaid.org.au Let’s work together to bring hope and resilience to our farmers and communities. #RuralAid #WaterForFarmers #SupportRuralAustralia #RuralHealth #FarmersFirst
