Are you looking for a new city for your next meeting? Did you know Seattle is consistently ranked as the #1 city for women entrepreneurs? One of Seattle’s unique strengths is its commitment to supporting women-owned businesses, making it an inspiring choice for events that value inclusivity and purpose. By integrating local, women-led brands into its convention experiences, Seattle creates a truly community-centered approach. For example, Visit Seattle’s collaboration with the Refugee Artisan Initiative during the APEC meetings provided thousands of upcycled bags crafted by refugee and immigrant women—combining sustainability with empowerment in a way that resonates long after the event. This dedication to uplifting women is also evident in initiatives like SEA for SHE and PCMA’s Ascent, which celebrate the contributions of women across our industry. With such a strong foundation, Seattle offers an inspiring backdrop for events that align with these values. I’ve been working with Susan C. Hutton recently on an event, and I want to recognize Visit Seattle for their proactive support and collaboration in helping us set up a smooth process for our client. If you’re considering Seattle for your next gathering, I’d be happy to support your hotel search and booking to help bring this vibrant destination to life for your group. Feel free to reach out if you’d like to explore how Seattle can enhance your next event experience. #eventplanners #womeninbusiness #Seattle #visitseattle #diversityandinclusion #womensempowerment #eventplanners #meetingprofessionals #meetingplanner #meetingsprofs #meetingsandevents #conferences #venuefinder #venuesourcing #eventvenue #eventspace #eventprofs #events #hospitality #hospitalityindustry #corporateevents #meetingsindustry #eventplanning

🌟 What an incredible last week at CLA (CliftonLarsonAllen) 's Gateway NYC! 🌟 Our Manhattan office was alive with energy, connection, and inspiration, living up to its name as a true Gateway for a global community. Here’s a glimpse at the week that was: ➡️ We kicked off with the British Consulate General's Great British Business Club's panel discussion on “Land and Expand – Strategies for Business Growth in the US.” Industry leaders shared key insights on navigating expansion. 💡 Key takeaway: Don’t go it alone—trusted advisors are essential for success. ➡️ Next up: The ZB Agency's Women in Revenue and Deal-Making Conference. This empowering event celebrated women breaking barriers in revenue generation and deal-making. 💡 Key takeaway: Embrace your femininity, walk into every room with confidence, and remember—you are enough! 💪 ➡️ A Fireside Chat for the Books 🔥 Our dynamic CEO, Jen Leary joined Melanie Hopkins, British Deputy Consul General, for an inspiring conversation on female leadership. It was candid, eye-opening, and fun! 💡 Key takeaway: Focus on what you can control—it fuels your ability to make an impact. ➡️ A Meeting with a Legend ✨ We wrapped the week with "Joetta” “OLY” , 4-time Olympian and wellness powerhouse. Her energy and wisdom left us inspired. 💡 Key takeaway: Never let your career define you—it’s just one piece of your story. 🏋️ Bonus tip: If you’re indulging in dessert, make sure it’s worth the sin (I skipped mine, but the temptation was real!). These events weren’t just about learning—they were about building connections, fueling inspiration, and driving impact. 🌍 Here’s to more incredible moments at The Gateway! 🚀 Nicola Bain, ACA, CIA, BFP , Jazmin Andrews, CPA , Zoe (Adefunke) Bogan , Alan Gogbashian , Dan Morris , Beth Holman Andy Pocock Georgia Barrett , UK Business and Trade - North America , Tamra Eker , Linda Clemons , Jamila Abston Mayfield , Deborah St. Lawrence Thompson, Brian Resnikoff, Paal A Proeitz, Sean Croteau, Luke Robinson, Mira Antoun, Mariam Sinare,

What an event! Imagine a room full of ERG Latino/a/e/x leaders who work countless hours as volunteers to create community and offer career advancement for their coworkers. The energy was amazing! There was a panel followed by roundtable discussions about our challenges and wins. I had the honor to represent T-Mobile's ELEVA ERG in this event. Here are some takeaways: James Thomas, Director of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion at Alaska Airlines offered the following advice to leaders: 1. Storytelling is important to let people know what you are doing in your ERG. Many times people just don't know. Your communication strategy needs to be very clear. 2. Make sure you use your voice because is more powerful than you know. You have more power than any of the DE&I team members in your company. You know what your members want and need and the DE&I team may not. 3. Leverage your executive sponsors. Don't be afraid to ask them. "I need this" for them to move obstacles out of the way. The incredible panelists Gladys Jimenez Freytag from Amazon, Aracely Godinez, CPA from Boeing, Pilar Pacheco from the Gates Foundation and Martha Segovia from Starbucks shared many insights, one of them was the challenges that Latinos face when moving to Seattle for work: - They agree that moving to Seattle from other cities or states that are more diverse can be a cultural shock for Latinos. - They founded ERGs or took leadership roles in their companies' ERGs to find their community and help others feel a sense of belonging. -Retention can be a challenge. They have seen talented Latinx employees leaving their companies and WA after a few years living in the Seattle area. "It can be tough living here." -Boeing Familia ERG offers new employees a welcome kit to inform them about their resource group and to let them know that there is a community for them in the company. Fun fact: Only about two people from the audience were actually from the Seattle area. Thank you to Gladys Jimenez Freytag, Global President of Latinos at Amazon for the invitation! She has been a big supporter of Latinas in Tech - Seattle. 🙏 Thank you to all the leaders that put this event together and the companies that were sponsors. Special thank you to Alaska Airlines for hosting us in their beautiful space.

And I survived! Those who know me well know that I hate public speaking - especially if I’m the focus. So why did I do it? Because representation matters. I firmly believe that you can’t be what you can’t see. In Australia, statistics show you’re more likely to become a CEO if your name is Andrew than if you’re a woman, and women still represent only 15% of the construction workforce. For those who couldn’t attend the panel, here are my three takeaways: 1️⃣ Find a place where you fit culturally. Every company has its own culture, and while I love the culture we’ve created at Croi, I understand that no one size fits all. You can adapt for a time, but if your principles, beliefs, and worldview don’t align, it’s tough to thrive there. 2️⃣ Be kind to yourself. We’re often our own worst critics, harsher than anyone else. Imposter syndrome and self-doubt are common - we all feel out of our depth at times. You’re not alone in that. 3️⃣ Build trusting relationships. I’ve found that my superpower, and a key to my success, is connecting with people. Adapting my communication and leadership style to the individual in front of me has been essential. We’re all unique, so it’s valuable to take time - especially in the beginning - to understand each person’s working style. Thank you to all the friendly faces who came to support me. You made it so much easier.Jessica Leszczynski Paul Rogers Jonny Killen Monica Romano Haider Bukhari Jason W. Gabriella du Preez Thank you to my amazing co-panelists Tom Brady and John Langford and our great MC Ioan Morgan - I learned so much from you during the preparation and panel discussion. And thank you, Club Hibernia, for organizing these fantastic events and offering me the chance to share my story. #RepresentationMatters #WomenInConstruction #DiversityInLeadership
